"brand new windscreen just fitted (£1500!) Was stolen and recoved way back in 2003 never been involved in any accidents. Very competitively priced at. £9250 lowest in the uk"

I think he has had it repaired and is telling porky's about its accident free life some how

It riles me this sort of thing, so tempted to mail or ring and say how much was the repair to the axe damage on that car? Why are you lying about the damage and show them the ebay ad!

It certainly is the same car as the non-private number is the one given in the Evil bay ad. Also, in the fourth picture you can see the paint is a slightly lighter shade on the repaired door. There are no close up shots of the repaired corner either and the car must have been trailered to the repair shop as the mileage is the same for both ads. Either that or he used the earlier photo. The car looks Ok, apart from the mis matched paint, but it's the owner that appears a bit dodgy!

Also, unlucky to have a broken windscreen and no stone chips to the body. Apparently, the only stone thats ever hit the car has broken the screen!

I've brought it to the attention of autotrader as as a possible fraudulent advert. I've no problem with people selling damaged repaired, so long as their customer knows what they are buying.

Neil, where do we draw the line though........................."has full service history"......................................very, few actually do.....plus a host of other things you have to verify check etc...............maybe not lies, but leaving things out!!!

I can live with people missing bits out...but suggesting that it was stolen 8 years ago and that is all, sounds like more than missing a bit out to me......or perhaps they are expecting us to believe that it was stolen and damaged in 2003 and not fixed until this year! That sounds more of a lie to me than missing out a bit of the truth. I do get your point though, we all say the good bits in an advert and certainly don't like paying for an ad to say bad bits...it just seems wrong when missing bits out is more like a lie.
Buyer beware and all that.

Thanks to this forum, at least we know what is out there and members can make a far more informed decision than Joe Public. Thanks sprotsmaserati.com is all I can say. I belong to two on line Maserati groups (as do many) and between them they are the most invaluable resource I have ever found for anything of interest to me and they allow people like me to own their dream cars. Thanks chaps

Missing bits out? It's fraudulent, end of. Never been involved in an accident, bollox. Why was it described on E-bay as damaged salvage? Wether it was damaged by another vehicle, obstacle or a deranged girlfriend with an axe, it's still met with an accident with the attendant damage. Also, the reason it hasn't got any stone chips is because it's had a respray due to the accident/ criminal damage. The guy is a chiseller and hopefully Autotrader will tell him where to go. Annnnnnd relax.

Enquired about the car via Pistonheads before seeing this thread. He had one LH rear shot showing the side of the car which clearly showed the door having a different colour to the rest of the body as it had been repainted. When I queried that, he tells me it was a just the light and the door had not been repainted. Today that photo has been removed. Then questioned him about the car being advertised on ebay last year as salvage, he said the bumper had been repainted and there was a scratch on the door and it had been repainted.......total 180 degree turnaround. This guy is a nasty piece of work and has no hesitation lying to sell anything he has up for sale.

Yeah, enough cars about not to have to buy from someone like that. No need not to be honest... it's a cat d, so why then fill the advert with lies. The damage was pretty minimal really, and having the 'before' pics to hand would have reassured potential buyers. I'm sure it'll pop up again before long...
