I collected 1:18 scale models for years and amassed a huge collection, over 200 models. Ended up having nowhere to keep them though where I could display them properly and they really attracted dust. So I ended up selling almost all of them, including rare models I'd bought years ago or from abroad etc. I kept a few and like Andy K now just look for models of cars I have owned, preferably in 1:18 scale or whatever I can lay my hands on. The collection is now quite small in comparison and still attracts dust!
A confession of how sad I am - I bought a 3200 GT model and then bought the correct Grigio Alfieri paint to match the car I owned and sprayed it - probably the only model in existence! I also spent some time making my own red 3200AC complete with correct wheels, black interior and red piping! Clearly too much time on my hands at the time...

My son has a red 3200 burago but nor an AC..Not seen one before...Good find.

Not a find Andy - I made it. 15 spoke wheels painted the correct colour, interior changed to black, red piping added, little bit of detailing on the bodywork etc. I'm probably right in saying it's the only one in existence as nobody else has been sad enough to build one!

Mark, it must be something to do with the car - I'd already thought about doing this after reading the first few posts on this thread!!!

Something to whet your appetite then Chris....

Forgive the crappy picture quality! I must get round to painting the interior the correct colour as well....

Each to their own Adam, ANYONE can have a blue one like yours! There's currently only 1 Grigio Alfieri, but I suspect that may be about to change!

This thread has now made me think I should get around to making a unique 4200CC coupe in 1:18 scale.....watch this space

i know you can get a 4200 Spyder made by Maisto very cheap on Ebay, including the box and stand, most probably get one for about 10 quid plus they do it in yellow as well. however i prefer this styel of wheel
