Morning gents. Having owned my GS for just over a year I have made the (bloody hard!) decision to let her go. Is been fantastic and I have loved every minute, however, I have decided on a slight change of tack...

I have just picked up a 1985 Ferrari 400i. And its a 3 spd auto. Just to be even more controversial!

I live and work in central London. And the GS sits in her garage all week until I get a 20 miles or so blast out of town at the weekend. With road tax, insurance, servicing, depreciation I just can't justify the costs for 3k miles a year. However, the 400i cost less than half the maser. being a classic means depreciation is zero. Road tax, and insurance are less than 1/3 the cost. And I have myself a nice little project!

Most important that v12 is descended from the Daytona. Noise is epic! And I love the shape. Pictures to follow.

I am somewhat of a silent member. But I have valued this site enormously. I had the pleasure of meeting many of you at the ace around Xmas time and I would like to say what a pleasure it was. Everyone was most welcoming and it was a real pleasure to come down.

I haven't put my car up for sale yet... I am in no rush. But she is an 08 gransport LE. Black, with black interior and interestingly, blue stitching. Only 10,200 miles. Absolutely mint. She lives in a garage. And has only had main dealer service. I bought her from Stratstone in jan 11 with 6,600miles and persuaded them to chuck 4 tyres and a new clutch in with the major service. Just had Egham service her and do all fluids.

If anyone is interested before then please do drop me a line and I am open to sensible offers.

Many thanks. Ben

Sounds absolutely lovely.
My daily driver is a black BMW, with black leather, and blue stitching, very nice combination.
If I was in the market for a GS, would be very interested.
You should have no trouble selling her.
Cheers
Mike

Thanks gents. I do appreciate the positive comments. I would very much like to see the car go to a fellow enthusiast. I will be sorry to see her go.

Nice 400 BFGTA, hope you enjoy her. Sure you will move your Maser no problem. Stay involved with the forum though, everything Italian.

Well.... The 120ltr fuel tank that cost £170 to fill up on way home. The 10 mpg. The £180 I spent on the 20ltrs of oil I just changed. And the fact it only starts 50% of the time! Those are the bits I'm not so keen on right now!!

Otherwise I agree with you whole heartedly!!

Best of luck with the sale Ben and best of luck with the 400i. Looks to be a well cared-for example, though I suspect one that will demand your full attention!

If there was one thing that stood out to me re the 400i , it was the seats , absolutely body hugging comfortable , complemented the driving postion and made you want to just put your foot down harder, even tho we could only reach 60 miles an hour inside those car decks , enjoy i know you will , the expsense is purely coincidental , just rate it on smiles per gallon ...priceless

regards loz

Don't worry about it, if you look at it so logically you could not justify any second 'toy'.
I've got two 'toys', try and justify that!
