The guy who bought it is in Nantwich Adam, he's asked me not to reveal the cost but he took it as is, no service, no check, which is what I had offered to do for him. Personally I'd have had it checked and serviced but he wanted it as it was for cheaper. He got a good deal but I'm happy with what I got for it too, everyone's happy, I'm sure he'll love it.

This ridiculously long thread has been viewed over 1000 times but is very near it's end. Gutted to see it go but time to move on. Was talking about running my wife's 159 and she said, and I quote "If you're gutted, just by another Maserati !!!!!!!!!!" I've looked at 4 in the last half hour, it really is difficult to get rid of the bug when you've been bitten as I'm sure you're all aware, we'll see, keep me posted on anything interesting that's not gonna lose me any cash.

I've sold it buy a Motorhome for my wife and our little boy but don't need that till early spring. Looked at the gransports for sale but would be thinking of really low offers as they're so tough to sell as I know from experience. I'd also have a 4200 if it was post '04 and mint but it'd mainly be a cash thing as I could do with adding a grand or two to the funds for spring so a wise purchase would be needed. Basically just preying on the usual seasonal price changes. On the other hand I could also do without the huge fuel costs( I do 15000 or more pa) so the dreaded d*****l could come into play. Happy with 25mpg plus though as anything's a luxury after putting £90 a week in it on my wage; it's most of my disposable income! All said and done I need what we all do, a none depreciating 40mpg gran turismo s, spotted one anywhere?

Adam, cheers for the style comment, made my night!

No problem mate, what model is your 159, i know they do the Lusso and TI etc.
I dont know why yours took so bloody long to sell, for that price, it was a bargain, i think in the next 12 months, when you will be able to get an early GT for 45K ish, the GS' should take a tumble in price, so it would be a good idea to maybe look at one then, but we dont know if that will happen so got to play the waiting game i spose.

Adam I do like that...I'm really suprised that the Alfa 159 hasn't done that well...Alfa are also suprised from what I have read...It's such a great looking car.

It's lovely but the brakes are awful, I've got new ones all round and they're not great, especially after getting out of a GS.

I too would love a ti but thought I'd just get ti wheels for mine, don't want to throw too much cash at it or I might as well get a 4200!

You can upgrade disc alot cheaper but if you want a full all round brake upgrade like AP's or the like then this isn't cheap...Was looking at an upgrade for GTV and that was about 1200....There are kits for about 900 plus I think.

every time i see a 159 i think, why would you buy a BMW or Merc, when you buy the german rivals you have not bought a car, you have just bought a piece of transport to get from A-B, basically you have bought something boring, whereas with the Alfa, it has some character.

Adam, I must say I disagree with the BMW bit. Apart form the weedy engines every BMW I have driven has been more than just a bit of transport...And i'm not talking M cars.....I dod understand where you are coming from mind.

O.K i will take it back about the Beemers, my mates dad has just bought a 335D coupe, used to have an E46 M3, really impressed by it, very smooth and is pretty darn quick, also it is finished in a really dark purple, part of the individual colour range with cream leather, sounds horrid but is quite nice when you see it.
