‘Park off’ permanently on

Afternoon guys,
My 2010 GT-S MC-shift has recently been displaying the ‘park off’ message permanently on the display.
The EPB works fine via the console lever. I’m not getting any Xmas tree lights or any other error messages.
Is there a permanent ‘park off’ option/mode that I might have engaged by mistake?
The Exide Premium battery was replaced in August 2021.
Thanks

Mine did that. It's bloody annoying. Marios said to check the boot for water (was bone dry). It kept doing it from time to time until eventually it stopped sometime around the time of a new battery. Coincidence? No idea!

Low battery and/or cold snap. Disconnect the battery and charge it fully

Reconnect battery

Lock/unlock then press and hold the boot button till it pops to reset the body computer and see how you get on

Will give that a try, thanks Matt.
It does sit on an optimate 6 charger permanently unless it’s used a few days in a row.

Well that may be your issue, constant charge to the battery only degrades it in my book.

Stick a new battery in there and try having the trickle on a timer, an hour a day is more than enough.

I found that with my old 456 on a CTEK. I now have battery switches on the older cars and I get the good old fashioned charger out once a fortnight for the QP over the winter months. Seems to work.

I alternate the CTEK on two cars and after driving I leave it off for a week at least. Seems to work but only time will tell..

I’ve had the 360 on a permanent Optimate 6 charger too for the past 7 years and the battery is still healthy. I suppose that car is not so sensitive though.

New battery fitted, went for a quick local blast. The ‘Park Off’ error message has disappeared. So far, so good.
Have ordered some timers for my trickle chargers. Thanks Matt.

If your trickle chargers dont auto start when you plug them into the mains then a timer wont help.

Any charger make / model where you need to press a buton to start the trickle charge process will default to standy when the power is cut by the timer.

Might be you just put it on trickle charge once a week for 24 hrs.

They do auto start. Optima 6 are pretty decent.
What Matt is saying I’m guessing, is that charging 24/7 doesn’t do the battery any favours as it doesn’t get to go through its natural cycles.

Interesting... I have mine permanently connected. I think I'll alternate a week on and a week off from now on.

Not changed a battery yet on any I have had..

I thought the whole point of a ctek was that it ‘exercises’ the battery. ie allows it to slightly drain before topping it up.
