That’s the view from Haystacks of Buttermere and Crummock Water and you have to climb up a mountain to see it. One of the best views in this country.

Not the cover photo, though.
My understanding is that the cover photo of the car itself was taken down here, and then “photoshopped“ to a background picture of the hills you mention.

As ever, I could be wrong, but I’d be amazed if that cover picture is quite what it appears.

Pretty sure it's been conclusively shown by @Harry that the photo is nothing like it appears.

Not that I'm worried, mind

I was hoping Nathan would give us the back story on how they decided to have the Lake District for their stunning backdrop. A superb first edition! Not sure how they’d top that one, but I’m looking forward to seeing it.

Well, the feature had a difficult birth. First we were kicked off the first location by the rangers. Then lockdown happened, which meant a gap of months before we could get some more done; right into the middle of some terrible weather. I was lucky to get the 550 miles in the car separately.
This left us without a viable cover shot going into more restrictive lockdown over winter, with even worse weather. We had to improvise. All magazine covers are doctored to some extent; though this one was more out of necessity.
With the UK opening up a bit more the next cover will be a lot more real; after all the mag is all about tangibly aspirational cars (on a variety of levels) in real environments.

Indeed a shame. Know nothing about Magneto - will be interested to see what that delivers.

I had Magneto for a year. It was a very high quality item, but too many of the stories were not of interest to me so I let my subscription lapse.

Thanks, good to hear it is high quality. I’ll give it a go and see what the articles are like. The website looks OK.

Sorry I couldn't explain more to those who signed up from here beforehand – it's a situation that's out of my hands.
Thankyou to everyone who bought a copy and who signed up for a subscription. Sadly it just wasn't to be.

No worries mate, hope we get to see more of your writing in Magneto.
