My One-Off Maserati

7 days later, the car is very impressive. The biggest draw is the exotic sound! This is by far the best sounding V8 Ferrari engine!

Valves open in 3rd gear above 5k revs sounds like a F1 car! Especially when there are walls either side. Comfort wise, stiffer than a QP but not as harsh as a 911. Perfect GT car, the weight is easily disguised in low gears around tight corners.

Overall very happy! Next job is to PPF the doors. Front bumper and half of bonnet came with factory PPF.

Remove front plate for my private reg. front mounting looks delicate though, any tips for softening adhesive, beyond a hair dryer

I finally found my dream Maserati and OMG that sound!!!!!

After many years of searching, and amid this tragic pandemic, I made an in/out trip to HR Owen yesterday from Northern Ireland to collect my 26,000 mile GTS MC-Shift and back to Northern Ireland again. Some things in life are worth taking a chance for.

The car is finished in Ferrari's £18,000 triple layered Rosso Fuoco which I believe is only available to customers who work through Ferrari's 'Tailor-made' programme which is 1 level below their one offs. Complemented by the full MC carbon package both inside and outside. We also have special extras like the Rosso Fuoco matched carpets and ventilated Alcantara seats, Alcantara wheel etc. Car is also sitting on the Neptune 20s complimented by Giallo brakes.

The build price of the vehicle was £142,000 and I am led to believe, which I do, that this is the only GTS MC-SHIFT in Rosso Fuoco in Europe! Special car indeed and drives like a dream.

Overall very very happy and HR Owen are other worldly for service and professionalism! There is a reason you pay a premium with dealers like this!

How did I miss this....Well done that's a great looking GT.....I am pretty sure the paint was 12k as there was a QP in the colour at Meridien many years ago and they quoted that number. That car is still owned by a forum member....Either way that's a lot of money the original owner spent which you now get to enjoy...Beautiful.

Lovely car....great work.

I do have one question though. How is the paint a £12k option? Does it have gold in it?

Maserati had a few colours that were 12k. I have the brochure somewhere. Those Matt colours were 12k on the GT.....Grey, Blue and black...but don't think they sold many...if any. They dropped the price later to 6k I believe. Eitherway 12k for paint is for those who don't have anything else to spend their money on. Jaguar have around 10 colours on the new FType that range from 4k to 6k....Just silly money.

Wow.....bargain! I still can't get my head around that.

I could have my TVR painted in one of the flip paints that is expensive but something like £500 per litre and you need a litre per coat. Most have 3 coats but some gone or 5. Even with prep, labour and everything it is still ONLY a £6-£8k cost.

I suspect this another example as Andy says of manufacturers excercising the option of bending the rich just because they can. If you look at some of the costs of some options on some of new exocita it really doesn't make sense.
