Again thx. And yet the dealer is basing his price on his belief that, and I quote, ‘Three MCs available all priced around each other, the rest are Sports’.
How odd eh?
I wonder if one of the 3 he mentioned was the one collected from marenello yesterday?

There is a thread on this, it’s the ex-top gear car so some are probably a bit circumspect about that. But then I don’t think anyone has been to see it, so it could be anything.

Noted but if truth be told I have no idea what the ‘Stradale experience’ is ie I have no idea what I’d be missing out on over the MC. Can you clarify please
I have just been through this debate myself. Ive tested a 2018 MC and a 2015 MC stradale back to back in the last 2 weeks. I listened to soo much advice from may sources (inc this site). Everyone bangs on about how amazing the strad is over the other models. Well compared to the new MC.... i can tell you it is not..!. Hardly any difference TBH. The auto manual F1 box on the strad isnt as quick as people say. It doesn't "hit" you in the back on every gearchange. Its just a bit jumpy. I was expecting a completely scintillating drive. The MC in sport mode is almost the same in drama, but with slightly different feel on gearchange. That's it. Unless your tracking, who cares about the lack of carbon brakes. And a GT isnt a tracking car IMO. The benefit with the newer MC is the new infotainment system and it has most of the stradale good bits, body panels, carbon bonnet, exhaust, fixed suspension etc. It just feels better inside and not like your in a 2007 car. In the strad - race mode is almost the same as Sports mode in the MC. In fact i dont even think sports mode in the strad does much. So compare race mode to sport on the MC - sound is very similar too. Most people on here will say go for the Stradale.. so much better etc. Guess what. Most people have stradale's who say this.. so id suggest its biased views. Maserati dropped some features of the stradale and made the MC, which i feel is 95% just as good, but dropped the old technology F1 gearbox - which isnt that great and improved the whole package / experience. Ive just ordered my 2018 MC - so glad i didnt get influenced by the "stradale is king" hype. Drive them back to back and you will see like i did. Finally - dont get sucked into the price debate of "its not a stradale" etc. The prices are driven by many things. Rarity, options, condition, MSRP when new, minus depreciation etc. Best way to gauge a fair price is comparable vehicles. There are ones for sale right now 3 yrs old with low mileage for £89K. Its a sellers market for the right cars, with the rare combo's (triple coat paint + carbon packs etc). I saw the add for the car you shared a while back. Its not over priced - not much. I didnt go an look at it because its Rosso Trionfale and i want Rosso Magma - otherwise id have gladly looked and paid that priced... see what i mean now. ? Hope this helps.

It’s priced about right, they’re hard to value as it’s the only one for sale in the U.K. and only the second used example to come to market. Not many people bought them as they were £20k list price more than a facelift (2018MY) Granturismo Sport. £120k vs £100k.
Agree. Its right on the price based on my research and importantly lack of comparison to lots of others.. That a key factor. the few you can compare are in this price range. its not a stradale vs MC issue. Market issue.

I don’t think many would find much difference between a face lift 2018 MC and a Stradale unless you have super human driving skills and second name is Hamilton. There is no difference in performance on paper and probably just the carbon brakes and that gearbox and that is personal taste. Could you get Rossi Magma in the 2018 cars ? If so I bet that is hard to find. Cost new was silly money….10k I think.

Now it you someone was looking at a Stradale and a MC shift S of the same age and not a face lift car that is when you would feels the differences.

I appreciate that most people need their GT to carry 4 people. But for those that don’t, the 2 seat Strad provides a very different experience to all the other variants (including the later Strads). The whole feel of the car is dictated by the seat, so you know you are somewhere special as soon as you get in. And if you have the optional harnesses fitted, the drama increases yet again. Jolly good though they are, the later cars don’t quite provide the same experience.

I don't k now the answer to your last comment about the MC shift S (Older car), but i suspect you are probably correct. I have not driven one of those.
So yes, you figured out you can get the latest MC in Rosso Magma. The 3 triple coat paint centennial colours ( Rosso Magma, Blue and white) + Rosso Italiano you could pay. Yes I was told by my dealer it was an extra £10K for the paint. Yes it is very hard to find one, most are Trionfale. That why i asked my main dealer to go and find me one, being a previous customer etc. They said it could take up a year - most likely 6 months. Theres only about 20 in the UK in the MC/strad he said. Anyway they contacted a current owner with an offer and I got lucky, so its only been 3 weeks.... :) And the spec is also brilliant. Carbon everywhere, inside and out.

Well done in getting one so soon. Sounds like it is perfect for. I think the 2018 model really brought the looks up to date. I love it.

I agree with much of what you say especially the comparison between Sport in the MC and RACE in the Strad but I have to dispute the comments around the gearbox. The gear change at anything over 5000 rpm is epic and you definitely get that kick in the back, the problem is you run out of road real quick.
The only important thing is that you have to be happy with your car and your choices.

Hi. I just didn't get that sensation TBH. So i can only say its experience of the drive and my expectation. What doesn't help is the fact that both have 460 BHP and honestly thats not quite enough in this car to really hit you in the back, that is simply a fact. Either gearbox isn't going to create such a feeling that much. I've come from a 720 HP RS7 so any GT isn't going to wow me with aggressive drama, but I'm not getting one again for that reason. If i wanted kick in the *** and such a drive I wouldn't have sold my Audi.. Its a different reason altogether for most of us. Your final comment is bang on. It about being happy with your choices. :)
