Granturismo Stradale 2018. Seriously looking to purchase. But what to look out for

Noted but if truth be told I have no idea what the ‘Stradale experience’ is ie I have no idea what I’d be missing out on over the MC. Can you clarify please

It probably comes down to what you want the car for. The Stradale was the sportiest of the Granturismo models, with fixed suspension, carbon ceramic brakes, a different body kit and the single clutch gearbox from the 430 scuderia. It weighs a bit less and the gear change is faster than standard models in race mode. (Race mode is exclusive to the Stradale.). The 2018 car you linked has the suspension and body kit but nothing else. The primary difference being it is a true automatic 6 speed gearbox and standard steel brakes. It fits the GT role better and is likely to be more suited to daily driving and less tiring on short journeys where the gearbox and brakes on the Strad take more effort and compromise. If you want a newer car, with warranty and CarPlay etc and like the looks of the Strad get a 2017 onwards like the one you linked earlier. If you are unsure about the driving differences the best thing to do would be to drive a couple and see what fits best. Good luck with the search!

Ah. Thx. All good points but time is of the essence and I’m in the market for something circa 2018/19 so I’ll not be looking for a lesser seen not white/black Strad then. Also the dealer is not yet ready to accept he’s not got a Strad but still wants Strad price. I’ve advised him that unless he reduces we move on. Seems to me circa 72-74K is the more accurate price by comparison

I think you nailed it, but the Strad gearbox shares more with the 599, including the actuator. The 430 gearbox is shared with the Coupe models.
Agreed, I was more referring to the 60ms gear changes that are similar to the 430 Sud and 599 GTO.....

What are the differences in specification of this model and the Strad.
Obviously carbon ceramic brakes, what what else?
Gearbox and that’s about it driving wise. Obviously you get the different front bumper and the new MTC+ media unit.

Is these such a thing as a 2018 strad? I thought everything from 18 onward was the MC model of the facelift GT and comes with strad exhaust, wings and c/f bonnet, but not strad suspension, brakes or gbox?
It does have fixed dampers ie Stradale suspension, but as you say, not the gearbox or ceramics.

Yes but it’s priced for a Stradale yet it’s not a Stradale. So why would I want to pay that price. When the price reflects what it actually is then yes I’ll probably buy it
It’s priced about right, they’re hard to value as it’s the only one for sale in the U.K. and only the second used example to come to market. Not many people bought them as they were £20k list price more than a facelift (2018MY) Granturismo Sport. £120k vs £100k.

Someone was collecting a red 2019 MC from marenello yesterday while I was there. I think they had it on sale for a week before it was snapped up. Awesome looking thing and production numbers were very small according to the sales guy.

Useful. I remember reading the brochure when they did the update. I would have been happy with the revised Sport as I like Skyhook.

For some reason the OP would not answer the question on which gearbox he wanted but coming from a DB9 I guess he wants the slushbox - I’ve got that and love it - and Skyhook if he has an ADS equipped DB9, roughly 2009 on as an option and standard on the the final facelift post the Virage stopping production.

Are you sure about this Richard. This one looks the same to my untrained eye no?
I just found a great car on Auto Trader:

That’s the cheaper car - no bonnet scoop. Rear will not have central exhausts either.
Ah thx. Clearly I’m not up to speed on these for which I apologise. Dealer says there are three similar cars out there, can I ask those in the know to point me in the right direction of them please, so I can compare.

There are none, there are 6 Sports all on Autotrader. The sports have ovals on the corners of the rear bumper, the MC has central exit pipes.

Again thx. And yet the dealer is basing his price on his belief that, and I quote, ‘Three MCs available all priced around each other, the rest are Sports’.
How odd eh?
