bugger me, what's the story behind this?
Judging by the marks on bumper where they’ve hit the post either fell asleep or Gillian Taylforth was in the passenger seat.

That's very nice - are the wheels the four or five bolt fixing type...? A set of those would look great on the 430 if I buy it (I've also got a Nardi steering wheel which would be the icing on the cake). I agree on the headlamp surrounds too .

Must be something about RR drivers; don't trust the satnav so they take their own road sign with them. Some people huh?
when i bought the car (1997 Spyder E) it had the standard 5 bolt flat dish type alloys which in my opinion look naff, so bought a set of 5 new alloys from eurospares listed for the Shamal, straight fit other than they needed some 10mm spacers as on full lock the fronts scrubbed, completely transforms the look of the car with new wheels
Edit: bought a set of five 8x16 as i wasn't sure whether the Shamal rears at 9 x 16 would fit the rear without fouling anything

Thanks for that, duly noted - wheel choice can often make or break the overall look of a car in my view. I have a photo somewhere of a Maser 430 wearing a set of Ferrari 400 / 412 five spoke alloys which look pretty good but those Shamal wheels look perfect (didn't realise they were available new, also duly noted).
fully agree on the wheels making a huge difference to overall look of a car, good luck with it and its part number 17 on the eurospares parts list for 8x6 fronts

Thanks again - whilst those Shamal alloys are expensive I think they are a definite improvement. Looking at the listing for 430 parts some of them are not that much more than classic Mini / Rover / Jag parts which is a pleasant surprise. I'm still selling off some of my Mini alloys and bits which will hopefully boost the slush fund
Good tip also on repainting the light surrounds, it makes the front end look a lot better....

on a side note,i always have a chuckle when seeing people trying to get the bonnet up, a real head scratcher unless you know how and where to stick your finger, stuffed if you have short chubby fingers
