Recently a business contact let me know of a ‘project’ car that a friend of his had decided was too much do him. It is an ex-Dubai car that he imported sight virtually unseen (suspect some drunken biding may have occurred on CoPart) anyway, having imported it to the UK he sent it to a vehicle trimmers to sort the interior and long story short it ended up being recovered from a police pound and onto his drive with the interior in boxes!
now I am not going to sod about with too much detail but I went to see it today on behalf of a forum member who wants a left hand drive.
The car is in a bad way, it has clearly been in a significant shunt at some point as all of the external panels have been taken off of it, the frame has clear damage including bits cut out and welded back in after some additional straightening. The thing has then been given a complete body kit in true Middle East style. After going back on the road out there it has clearly been stressed as it has cracked the windscreen from side to middle about 80mm down.
I would not recommend this is put on the road over here or anywhere, I would further suggest it is not a track car either. Which realistically makes it a breaker, there is an interior already stripped out, the mechanicals all look to be there. So anyone in the market for a 4.2 2012 engine, auto/flappy paddle etc. Building a kit car etc. Speak up as it will be offered to breakers next week or so.
The last couple are from when it was last run at the trimmers about 18 months ago.
