Well this has finally hit home, found out yesterday that my friend Pauls (some of you will know him from Llandow) wife has CV19 and is on a ventilator in a very poorly condition. My thoughts go out to them and hope that Kath pulls through

A bit of bright news from my local James Cook University Hospital given to me by friends that work there.
I assume other hospitals are doing similar stuff

At the moment we have 26 inmates (tallies with BBC figure)
We have 80 beds ready now and more being prepared (population 15000 approx)
Hospices also have available beds. We are looking too at an empty Sainsbury's shop as an overflow
1/2 the hospital (not sure of capacity - but it is a big respected hospital) has been given over to virus wards
Ongoing training and plenty of volunteers
Surgeons and other staff seconded for the fight
A peak is expected around the end of this week - maybe not THE peak
We are as ready as we can be at this time.

I know what it is like to prepare for large events when I managed 3 oil platform shutdowns
It is not easy
I am so proud.
