One of my nephews and his young family of 4 boys have posted on Instagram that they are in Cardiff for the weekend.
They live in Milton Keynes and his wife's parents are GP'S.
Too me that's totally Fúcked Up :(
This is why there needs to be a lockdown , younger people are thinking I'll be fine so I'm doing what I want with total disregard for everyone else.

That is exactly what those mothers are, corner shop owners, reselling it on. And not being racist but every picture you see of people doing it, they are asians.

Call me a gullible optimist, but I would like to think some of them are stocking up at the huge supermarkets and wholesalers so that they have some supplies to offer their regular and OAP customers at their little corner shops. Or are bulk buying for their indian restauurants because people keep stealing whole rolls from them.

That was super INTERESTING, now, after reading that I am less sure about Boris and his advisors.

It was interesting. But the key point it makes is that there was intelligent debate (if heated) between two main approaches, each of which had data and arguments to support them. The headline is always "Boris did nothing, and has now realised that he is an idiot and has changed his approch". But any actual thoughtful journalism says, as this article does, things like, "Several of the scientists frantically argued that the UK must immediately introduce social distancing to halt the spread of the virus. .... But others continued to believe that introducing social distancing now would be unsustainable for a long period and would lead to a more disastrous second wave of infection."

Says a lot about the population here. Poorly educated compared to the rest of Europe. Too complacent. Welfare mentality. It permeates from the leadership over the years.

I totally agree people shouldn’t be panic buying in the face of reason. Or fleeing to their 2nd homes. I dont think they are poorly educated or stupid. I think the general populous are scared. 99% of the population probably have never had there mortality threatened and that makes people do things they wouldn’t normally do.

Where is that , any shop doing it should be boycotted , if I saw that I'd make sure they knew they'd lost a customer, when this is over there'll be plenty of choice.

Its happening in Cornwall to; long queues on the A30 today (reported by the police) due to all the holiday home brigade escaping to the country...beggars belief!
Cornwall only has one main hospital in Truro, so if this virus now gets a hold, they are going to be goosed.

I can see how 'spreading risk across the country' looks like an obviously bad thing, but I think it does not reflect what the main dangerous elements of an epidemic are. If one infected person goes to a nearby cinema or pub and infects 20 others, who then go to a nearby cinema or pub and ..... then you risk a massive outbreak. If a few people who, let's say, are infected travel across the country to be with a few other people, then this might create some geographical; spread, but does not have the same multiplier effect. And we already have geographical spread.

I recognise that if you think that 'total lockdown' is necessary and can be effective and sustainable, then any risk of any kind of spreading is unacceptable. But if you believe that 'partial lock down' is the appropriate approach, then some kinds of spreading will risk things getting out of control and others may not.

But the UKG have already closed all public venues like pubs, restaurants, cinemas , theatres, etc to significantly reduce the risk of cross infection. So we now need people to think about their own actions and to be honest shipping off out of the cities to all 4 corners of the UK is probably not a good idea. It risks spreading the virus and puts additional pressure on the local facilities which are already struggling to cope with local footfall let alone more visitors. I was informed today that at least x2 coach loads of people from towns as far as 60 miles away, have been shipped into my local village to strip bare the local COOP and fruit and veg shop. They are acting like f------ locusts and this will get ugly unless something is done about it. So to be honest the sooner the UKG lockdown major cities and towns then the better to stop this from happening. It is like the friggin wild west....
