I’d suggest D Riley is a cock.

The underground timetable has been reduced because of staff shortages. Not just on some political whim. Most of the transport network is struggling for staff and you can’t just get them off the street. We’ve got over 10% of staff sick or in isolation I’d imagine LUL is the same.

So either close the fricking thing or allow people on at a suitable distance. It's vague just like the bars, restaurant rule, "Oh the bars and clubs of London can remain open during this pandemic but we advise against going to any of them". It's vague, misleading and goes totally against what the WHO recommend, ie shutdown needed.

Be careful making sweeping statements like that the very sensitive ones on here will pull you up for being racist or xenophobic etc....

To be fair , i dont really give a toss, far too many people are too scared to call a spade a spade nowdays .......... we have to call it a construction implement or something stupid , they can say what they like it free speech as far as im concened , having spent 30 + years in Africa and the middle east supporting various local village groups im far from racist , but i will call a spade a spade when i see it , no liberal/labour millenial is going to change my way of thinking ...................rant over

Some people will take any opportunity to make a fast buck , petrol station had a hand written sign up, hand sanitiser and face masks available, the sanitiser was £6.99 for a maybe 200ml bottle , I didn't buy any, don't know if that's reasonable or not, never bought any

Only my opinion but it seems as though the insurance companies are lobbying the government not to do the shutdown in order to minimise the amount they have to pay out

I cannot rationalise any other reason why the government would contradict it self like this

Why does the cynic in me believe that we may soon find out that the insurance (back up); mortgage/life etc won’t be there if/when we are (hopefully not) claiming it.
And the insurance companies will go :worried1:.....we don’t have it....

If you close it how do doctors nurses etc get to work?

There’s a huge lack of personal responsibility. I bet the pratt who posted that didn’t need to be on that train.

Im what has been described as a key worker so have been travelling today and am astounded by both the number of people who seem to be using this as a day off to go to Primark etc and the vast quantities of the elderly milling about.

Close them to all but key workers....
Anyway bars and pubs, restaurants all closed from midnight tonight which is the correct move but not enough still.

There is enough infra now in place for most people to work from home, kids/school a prob, but there's endless delivery people/services to keep most indoors. When this is over we might well see and more home-based way of working to prevent this happening, and to cut emissions, and to create an efficient mechanism for all this to work as the norm.

Might make us insular animals though....

Daughter has an interview for Tesco Monday.
with her ex Manager at 10 and if successful induction at 11.
as she sees it, while she can’t carry on with qualifying as a teacher she may as well do something else and help if she can. All our neighbours are elderly so they have our numbers. We’ve done a milk run today for them, and hopefully we’ll have a spy in the cab should they need supplies.
