I think I’m gonna treat myself.
Anyone have one -I’d be interested in your experience if you have.

I’m a little concerned about driving around in Something that says “campers”.
I’m usually a little more discrete.66449

I find both the Evoque and Velar claustrophobic in the back, think it’s because your head is above the top of the windows.

No the inlaws have had a selection of RR products. Hence why I’m usually in the back. They’re always new or nearly new and they only keep them two years but I can’t remember anything going wrong with any of them.

They’ve got a Ford thing now and it’s on it’s second AC compressor.

Wattie me too.

Have an Evoque (don’t get the rear seat thing, must have been the older version) and thinking Velar next.

The Evoque has been epic and ultra reliable...converted.

Have had full fat and sport Range Rovers but not Velar. Now have Cayenne Turbo that has been light years better on reliability and running costs. All my JLR cars were dreadful in this respect and it took me a long time and lots of money before I finally saw the light.

if you have a Porsche SUV as indicated, I wouldn’t consider moving to a JLR product unless you want grief and expense!

Cayenne t was years ago. Just like the look of the Velar as an older more responsible mature citizen.
think my Porsche days are over.

Yeah agreed. But id go Gts or Turbo if I went there and honestly they don’t “tingle”’me anymore. It’s a little pudgy thing and after a Cayenne Turbo it’s a backwards step.

Don’t disagree, the Turbo is fantastic. If a Macan is a backwards step from a Cayenne Turbo then a Velar is several leaps backwards.

Totally different car. You cannot use a cars performance nowadays- 60/70over here on most roads. I’ll take the comfort.
You’ve forgotten Dickie, after the Atom nothing comes close for excitement. ;)

Had a brand new Velar on loan for 2 months while my wife's Range Rover Sport Autobiography SC was having a brand new engine fitted to it

I hated everything about it and would never ever put my money there. It was cramped, narrow and short. Was a lot firmer. Had absolutely 0 cool factor- looked like it belonged to my mum. Sound system was bad. Steering felt light and vague. Had very bad mpg (Compared to my 5.0 L 510HP RR). Air suspension kept on breaking. Would make a super loud beep as you approached speed cams and I had no idea how to turn it off. My wife hated it as well. Was so glad to get the RRS back eventually.

On the plus side - it had windows that open and shut.

Ok, but to be fair it’s engine didn’t require replacing.....which I’m a little more concerned about, other than your opinion of what it looked like.
Nice dancing emoji by the way, presumably this was one of the least concerning problems of RR ownership you’ve experienced..., hence the celebration?

Knowing people that have worked on the service desk at a JLR dealership, and people that have worked on them from a service side, as well as knowing people who have owned them, id avoid full size RR products. Far too unreliable, and dealers etc slow to get things sorted. Id be going German personally, unless a DBX takes your fancy.
