Ha, bungees and ponchos, do you reckon they still get taught that stuff?

If they do, wonder whether there’s still stock of West German ones.
Lol....not that poncho, the 80’s one, it’s more of a big goretex sheet these days.
I hope they do, I’ve used to extend tents, canopy on caravan and all sorts.

You’ve got a whole Yank in your Bergen ?
No wonder I can’t pick it up.
had a few yanks on exchange once. we did the 3 mile infantry cft. They all jacked after 2 miles and got in the wagon. They could do loads of pull ups and push ups tho!!!!

Sitting here in a bar in Yangon having a lunchtime beer, just sneezed a couple of times and appear to suddenly have four tables to myself. I do have a couple of masks with me, but no good when drinking beer.

I hope you have great fun. I am fortunate to have travelled a lot but I fell in love with Burma back in 2010 when sanctions were in full sway and Westerners were all given 'police protection' and followed. The only decent bar in Rangoon was the Savoy Hotel bar (maybe could seat 10-15 people). Over 2 weeks were only saw 15 foreigners - I suspect it is very, very different now. It was a 100% cash economy without ATMs and foreigners couldn't get mobile phones or roam.

I remember being in an Irish bar in a hotel in Rangoon that had no Guiness (sanctions)!

We sent Christmas cards from Burma. They all turned up 6 months later in the UK and had been read and the envelopes sellotaped back down.

Well they’ve arrived.
Hope I’ve never gotta put one on.....

We’ve a guy Airbnbing his apartment against the Body Corporate rules. As I walked in today 2 Chinese with suitcases who have just clearly been staying in it were leaving reception.
It’s not a nice feeling.

and according to the wife, It don't matter if you wear a mask as it can get through the eyeballs, not sure how true that is but if she said it then it must be true;)
She is correct, but it’s a bit like saying it doesn’t matter if you wear a seatbelt you can still get injured or worse in a crash, but it does dramatically reduce the possibility, so as long as it’s N95 grade mask it will help, but no good in a crash.

I'm sorry, did you check the 'Chinese' folks travel itinerary?

No Need to be sorry.
Of course I didn’t. I crossed the road and stayed well clear.
I keep up to date via this.
When it’s on your doorstep you might react differently.

I hope you got some gas masks as well! :p

:rofl5:
Not a preper, they were on special at the Heinz company shop in the summer.
We are lucky where the likely hood of any natural disasters is low in this country.
If anything happens where you need to be prepared for anything else, we are fooked anyway.

I do believe that the main reasons for wearing masks is as a courtesy to others (you contain your sneeze) rather than to protect against inhaling the virus. As other have said eye balls will let it in !!
