I disagree that it‘s madness they are suspended - it’s procedure for any incident involving a firearms officer discharging their weapon. It ensures due process and investigation. The outcome however, given the limited video footsge release of the seconds before the shot was fired would appear to validate the shot, a device strapped to the body of the perpetrator, reasonable assumption it’s a bomb, shoot to kill and protect life. Had he not been wearing that, given he’d already been disarmed then I doubt the officer would have fired.Unless they have changed the rules/ process (they promised they would) that firearms officer will have been suspended already pending the investigation - complete madness
