Not at all. Its a total fiasco.....getting worse.
I suspect there is more behind Johnsons "Us girl company" favouritism too.......

Unfortunately democracies rely on the respect of a majority vote. This has never been the case with Brexit and I think the result will be the rise of percieved extreme parties as a result- which is actually quite hilarious as theres nothing more extreme as ignoring democracy which is what those elected to represent the people clearly have done.....under their own interpretations of such.

Well if you'd paid attention I told you back on 30 May he wasn't Brexity enough (see above).....none of the major parties can get it through. Prediction- still a revoke A50 on or after 31/10.
It's funny how I'm argumentative but you're not.....

Doesnt "Lying" encompass just about every MP in the current HOP?
They all stood to invoke Brexit......73% were remainers and lied.
Treason May lied 109 times.
Jeremey Corbyn lies so much he cant even remember which lies he's said.
Jo whatever her name is lied about her sincerity in asking for an in/out referendum.....see my video....look at her view now!

The only sure thing is the countries reputation is ruined.

A smart person once told me, don't do things that don't make you happy.

Yep that same apparently smart person also told us to “do what they do and not what they say” :lol2::lol::lol2:but hey what do I know, I take my financial advice from the side of a bus. “Let’s take back control”... Err we did, ummh hang on a minute I’m still not happy....So this must be a government stitch up!! A trick, a trap by the E.U.!! No hang on, it must be those pesky Supreme Court judges “those enemies of the people”... what you mean our judiciary, independently made a decision Based on Our Laws and we are still in the EU?

But I know let’s suspend Parliament, that way we can have no democracy or checks and balances and when we need a law made we can’t have a law made, well because Parliament is suspended, silenced or prorogued........Sovereignty hey...what a terrible and inconvenient thing to have.:D

Is that incoherent rant aimed at me or just “leavers” in general?

Don’t forget, you’ll have to pay for it. What they give with one hand, they’ll take with the others
I would never vote for them. It goes against everything I believe. I just wish the Conservatives would just stick to core principles, not be hypocrites and act up to a stereotype that riles the majority of the country. They are shooting themselves in both feet and giving Jo Swinson the time of her life. Stick to Hard work, opportunities for all.

Feck Farage. He's a fascist. He'd bend this country over and let trump and Putin have their way with it.
He's the ring leader of the far right.
Quite funny,
remain mps elected on deceit doing everything possible to reverse a democratic decision - all good.
But Farage is a fascist.
Geez.
If 73% of the HOP were leavers the country wouldn’t be in this fiasco.
Unfortunately it isn’t and that’s where the problem lies, not with the voting public but with those trusted to implement it.
400-500 MPs determined not to.

Independently, yeah right. Are you really so naive? Pretty much all laws are open to interpretation, this is why in a court appeal process higher court decision frequently overturn earlier court decisions. So the final say of the Supreme Court is just the view of one or three people on what the law means. It is just as prone to both bias and error as anybody else’s view. Anybody who has had any meaningful involvement with the judiciary in this country will know it is just as prone to bias and influence as any other body

Oh, and these “checks and balances”, you mean the ones that have delivered zero, nada, nothing and indeed failed to deliver the democratic vote of the British people. The same checks and balances that are driven more by personal opinion and personal political agenda than any desire to deliver the only truly democratic act in this whole debacle, the vote of the British people. You can argue about was the right question asked, but in my view there has been only one true act of democracy in this whole debacle and that was the original vote. Everything has been politics largely driven by personal opinion and agenda. Democracy is dead; God save Democracy

11 judges Unanimously came to that decision.:D:lol2::lol::lol2:........ if you’re not happy with your own country’s judges and ruling at the highest level, then why not take it up with the European Court of Justice .... Oh but wait hang on, can’t do that as we can’t have them ruling us and telling us what to do ....So what you’re telling me is that the government didn’t have a case and couldn’t argue strong enough and didn’t have any proof and no single Tory would actually sign up and put their name to the document for the reason to prorogue parliament. Could it be they were afraid to be liable for it...ie. that it was an unlawful act.:D

Do you mean the original vote in the 1970s?:D

Another rant.
apparently Geoffrey Cox said the prorogation was legal. They followed advice that was subsequently overruled. Maybe they’ll prorogue parliament next week - legally and within the supreme courts rules next time
You seem awfully angry at the Tories. I am too, they’ve fecked it all up, but at least Johnson is trying to get it done - against all odds.

Do you really think BJ is Wattie ?
I still can't work out if he is a complete fool or a Genius.
He reminds me a bit of Jack Nicholson in One flew over the Cuckoos Nest.

:lol2::lol::lol2:Then why was Jeffrey Cox’s legal advice blanked out in the prorogation order sheet to prorogue Parliament. Why didn’t any of the proponents for prorogation not bother turning up to be questioned and cross examined? The only anger I can see and rants happening isn’t coming from this side of the debate my friend and I always said to you as before, that a metaphorical hug is waiting for you whenever you need it. I appreciate that you have run out of arguments and people to direct your discourse to. It sounds like leavers are more divided and split in what type of Leave they want than ever before. Just think the Tories and the ERG had it in their hands just a few months ago.....

Now then Shall we kiss and make up. But no tongues please I’m British!:D

P.S When are you going to do the Zep challenge from a while back? We are still waiting for you to walk in another man’s shoes.;)

:lol2::lol::lol2: I did wonder when you’ed pipe up and tell us that Boris isn’t Brexity enough for you ....:lol2::lol::lol2:..I’ve missed you Wattie and your predictions...... What’s the score now...? Have you run out of arguments and people to argue with?

Some of us just left the thread alone as it was going nowhere. I like to pop in now and then and see if we've made any progress, but it seems were still stuck at democracy is dead, and respect the result of an advisory referendum from 3 years back. I guess the latest change is folk fleeing towards the fascist idiot who stands for nothing other than lining his own pocket, and we also have a sprinkling of toxic masculinity on top.

Still, doesn't make this place any less fun to be, and this thread does help me laugh/smile on a dull Wednesday morning :)

One mans freedom fighter is another mans terrorist.
No-one in the HOP currently lines their own pocket?
Leavers have no choice now but to vote one way- if it’s not nobbled before then and the current batch of MPS are responsible for that.

Hard line leavers may have no choice now but to vote one way. Most sensible folk will do what everyone else does, and look at the whole range of policies, and make a judged decision based on their own priorities, like always vote for the best political compromise. I'd hope that some leavers are saavy enough to realise that this isn't the time for a protest vote, especially when it aligns you with a facist who leads a party that won't even publish a manifesto, and has openly, among other things admitted to wanting to privatise the NHS / introduce an insurance based health care system, shame women feeding their babies, profit from the resulting collapsed housing market, cut pay funding to support to our countries future - those who have just had a child.

You ALWAYS have a choice on which way to vote, it's just that the choice is rarely (never?) exactly what you want.

On the pocket lining, I say wants nothing other than to line his own pocket. Plenty in the HOP are in it for the same reason, but at least some, if not most of them are also in it for other reasons.
