IO have the idea of a alphabet question where there are 26 answers one for each letter of the Alphabet

I set a whole pub quiz a bit like this once - first 26 questions contained Alpha, Bravo, etc and the last 24 were the Greek alphabet.

Began with:
  • Alfa Romeo withdrew its corporate support for motor racing in 1933 (having just won le Mans three years in a row); which famous Italian racing driver and entrepreneur took over responsibility for the team?
  • In the 1959 Western film Rio Bravo, who was the crooner who played the part of hard-drinking sheriff's deputy, 'Dude'?
Ended with:
  • In which television series is the Psi Corps the part of the Earth Alliance that is responsible for people with telepathic abilities?
  • Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9 are all examples of what type of chemical compound?

You guys...

Since you've been distracted I'll provide the answers to the original QOTD, which was naming the songs from which these boring lines are taken:
  1. "They sentenced me to twenty years of boredom"
  2. "London's burning with boredom now"
  3. "We would zig-zag our way through the boredom and pain"
  4. "And only passing time could kill the boredom we acquired"
Answers are:

  1. First We Take Manhattan by Leonard Cohen [answered by zagatoes30]
  2. London's Burning by The Clash [zagatoes30 again]
  3. Pigs on the Wing part 1 by Pink Floyd [Wanderer got closest]
  4. We All Fall in Love Sometimes by Elton John [JonW knew this]
Since 4 is the trickiest to identify I think, winner is awarded to JonW... over to you. A multi-part question would be great; we love 'em.

Ok - I’m currently walking my dogs at the Epsom Derby racecourse.

What is the oldest racecourse in Britain? And for those who like multi-part questions, when did it open?

I think it's Chester, late 16th century - well that was what we were always told being relatively close to it

Was watching Supertruckers over the weekend which led to this question

What weight was the largest load ever transported on UK roads? and for those lovers of multiple questions what was it and where was it transported from and to?
