Was watching Supertruckers over the weekend which led to this question

What weight was the largest load ever transported on UK roads? and for those lovers of multiple questions what was it and where was it transported from and to?
I would guess at some boiler for a ship or something for a nuclear reactor.

Or maybe a South African Railways G-MAM 4-8-2+2-8-4 Beyer Garratt steam loco. SA gauge not being standard gauge 3’6” I think...

No neither correct, the loco is not even half the weight in question

Bridges tend to be transported in bits...BUT the air bridge at Gatwick was transported from its assembly point in a now long-stay car park then transported along a taxiway to be jacked up into position. But that wasn't on public roads. Although the public do have access. So I'd say something like that

As I watch this at silly o'clock on a Saturday morning (when I can switch channels from Peppa Pig without Joseph noticing) I'd say it was probably a transformer of some kind probably weighing over 500 tonnes.
I know there is a weight limit for tarmac. So any more and it breaks up.

Where was it going. I doubt a power station as they would build it on site, so I'm guessing the docks somewhere.

Great programme though. I liked the one where they held up a funeral procession with a 100 tonne dumper truck! Opps!

Well enough information to take the baton.

It was indeed a Transformer 640 Tonnes including it's special transport frame, removed from Didcot power station and delivered to Avonmouth docks in 2013

Speaking of the biggest. We all know that the biggest city in Britain is London.

However, what is the biggest town?

Edit. By population.
