Personally I’m unlikely to use Android Auto but a future owner may want it.

Is the selection of CarPlay / Android Auto purely determined by plugging in the relevant iPhone / Android phone or is there some switching between modes required?

Correct. Worst case scenario if a future owner ever wanted to use it with Android, you simply buy a new dongle for £50

I suspect in years to come they will be even cheaper.

New dongles ordered, be here in 2 weeks.

You will have to install an app called AutoKit which I will do a separate thread on how to do that. It’s pretty simple.

New dongles have been shipped, quoting 5-7 days so we should be good to ship on time plus they have a modified software that fixes a phone duplex issue and also has screen mirroring function that works. So you can have your phone running landscape on the monitor. It’s not touchscreen back to the phone just a mirror but a great additional feature.

Hmmmm good idea.. I would need to find a new wood trim or wicked coat the lot. Wonder if connections are all the same.

I use Apple Car Play and am more than happy to accept the dongles!

I like the sound of the screen mirroring feature. Sounds like it's worth the wait :)
Btw, just to double check Matt, do you have me down for both the (rear view) camera and harness additional extras(?)

Hi conaero,

I would like one of these units, but I am a little lost with all the extras after reading the last 17 pages of this forum :)

Can you confirm, will the units work with both apple and android phones or do you need different adaptors? Ideally I would like it capable of both (I use android, the wife apple)

If I want a reversing camera do you also supply that?

I would also want the adapter so that there is no need to cut cables (I have a granturismo 2013 4.7 mc sport)

Do you know or can recommend a fitter in the West Midlands?

What will all the above cost me including delivery please (excluding fitting)?

Hi Phil the kit comes with both dual CarPlay/Android Auto dongle and a reversing camera.

The wiring adapter is only from Paul at Prestige the fitter in St Albans for about £25 extra.

He will travel or you can pop down to him.
