Is your car a keeper

Mine is a keeper, had a Granturismo S before but always wanted the Strad so took the plunge and ordered it last year. She'll be a year old tomorrow and I've loved every minute of the drive and every single mile. Got a hankering for a McLaren 570, but won't buy one unless I can afford to keep the Strad.

Keeper for me. Sometimes i think of having something more fresh, like a Stradale, an Audi RS4 or an Aston, but soon my mind flies back to the 4200. Never tired of the shape, of the colour, of the interior, of the engine, of the cambiocorsa. What scares me is the kms run.

I consider my QP a keeper. I had lot of want for the QP 4.7 Sport GTS but I have really fallen for the DS setup and prefer it over the auto.

QP 2009 4.2 and a keeper. First owner took 3 years to put 10K miles on but i have done that in 11 months. I bought it to drive it and will do up to 12K per year and am happy it will take it over the next few years. Minimum 100K in the QP before kids are gone and i can then move to a GT

I bought mine four years ago as a birthday present to myself for a significant birthday. I originally intended keeping her for one year just to scratch that itch.

But she is keeping me; keeping me enthralled, and I just can't think what I could replace her with. If I won the lottery tomorrow there isn't a new car on the market that I fancy.

Keeper. I have put 40,000 km on mine in 2 years and let's call it a rolling restoration.
Given it is 10 years old ( for the next 25 mins when it becomes 11 ) I figured let's get the things attended too while parts are still readily available.
1.5 sets of tyres, air cond compressor, exhaust upgrade after I ruined my cats at a track day.
Next year will fit complete renewed brakes, clutch and suspension refresh all rubbers and fit lowering springs.
Car looks awesome and values are holding here, so why not keep it?

I am not sure at the moment.

Moving job and location in the New Year so may need to pick up a reliable daily if the Passat falls apart!

Mileage will be circa 16k a year so may just chop it all in for a QP, unless I keep the 4200 and get a lease car.

No decisions yet but will have to consider my options when I get back from Goa in March.

I have had mine for two years and really would never think about selling it. After 3500 km of extremely enjoyable driving, it really just reminds me that for such a sensible price point, it really is difficult to match, in terms of beauty, shape, performance, sound and of course the joy of sitting behind the wheel and burying my foot to hear that V8 scream.

I dearly love it as does my son. A once in a lifetime car and definitely a keeper! :)

My GS is a keeper; it's unique car that I've made more unique with a few modifications. I've done 20k miles in her, every one of them an enormous pleasure. Only something very special could ever replace her, maybe a Strad with the right colours/spec but I don't think that's likely.

My Ghibli is a brilliant car for the purpose I use it for, but it's not a keeper. I'll keep it 2-3 years maximum before replacing.

Mine's a keeper at least until I can afford a GTS! As others have said the drama of driving these things and their rarity means I'm unlikely to buy something other than another Maserati.

Good question
My QPV is fabulous
I sort of stumbled on the marque by accident and now I know I will never seriously own anything else, I am totally hooked
but it is a stepping stone because I would like a newer model QPV with a particular spec which I do not think I will get so compromises will be called for eg 2013, Piano black, sunroof, GTS, light colour interior 4.7 etc etc all for £20000 (I did say compromises)!
Just to complicate things a GT is looking better and better too
decisions decisions

It seems that while the present car may not be a keeper for everybody the marque definitely is.

When you consider the alternatives in the 10-20k bracket it's hard to find anything else with the style and pace to match , a few offerings from Jaguar, XK XF XJR, Mercedes , BMW and Audis all look the same , even the RS Audis don't look that much different to the standard cars.

When you're driving a Maserati it's special because they don't do ordinary.

Can't see anything to move up into to be honest, although the GT is a nice car, its a bit too mainstream for me (!)
To buy a GranSport in the same condition and mileage would cost me £10-15k+ which would be a ludicrous thing to do, prefer modding mine to be better than a GS!
If my fortunes changed beyond imagination could live with a Ferrari FF though!

My GS is not going anywhere in the short term.
If funds allowed I would like a v8 mid engined Italian , but for now funds don't allow and the GS covers all my needs of being a family car and weekend blast toy.
In 10 months I have covered 10k Kms and with the car now on 24k Kms I am starting to be a bit worried about future mileage. I still think in have some slack for now though.
I may need a runaround instead and keep the GS for weekend fun.
I have not tired of the car and how it drives...it always feels special

We seem to be pre occupied with low mileage. I would pretty much rule out a low mileage Maserati this time round in my search. They really do relish and benefit by being driven. I certainly would not pay a premium for one. Don't worry about the miles enjoy it.

I've driven some really nice low mileage ones here but they certainly go quicker with a few miles on them for sure.
Just look after them properly as they deserve to be.
