Adam, do you know what the fix is for this (if there is one); is it a job for main dealer?Yup. Apparently it's one of the bushes which the steering column runs through.
Mark I am shocked you have taken the Benny approach to maintenance. There is a fix for this - press ******* the right-hand pedal in the driver's foot well. The resultant increase in noise from the exhaust should diminish any squeaking from the steering!
When I checked it with my main dealer they said they could squirt some oil on it but it would only be a short term fixed before the squeak returned. BigR has taken the right decision to put it down to personality.
You probably need a small mouse to access the squeaky bush in the first place. So even if you can chalk him up adequately to fix the squeak you then run the risk of having another squeak on the loose. Or is it more accessible than I suspect?
Second squeak can be rectified with cheese How about graphite powder or PTFE lube?
C
Nothing good can come of using cheese, my friend.
Graphite powder is very messy.... Talcum powder is virtually free, and doesn't ruin your shoes.
...you'd need to ask yourself what a well-greased mouse could achieve that a non-augmented one couldn't...
