Yes Loz, its called a lot of dodge dealers, lack of competion, and ripping the backside out of you , because compliance is a very large JOKE!! which costs about $20K what is more scarey is most doing it don't even understand the cars. the Aus gov continue to protect the local industry to prop up Holden (GM) and Ford (Aus) here in australia until they let these car brands die european cars get hammered... its a shame because australians at large could all be enjoying (real cars ) european cars if they traded for their normal values....
I don't know what its like in Uk to compare but, main dealerships charge 60% more for the same parts which get delivered with all duties paid and to my door from overseas, shipping the lot all in... they also get delivered faster,,, and thats before we talk above service rates, and the general lack of customer service and technical know how to maintain them.. current example rubber boot mat for Alfa 159, $270 AUS 65GBP UK...
I just bought my wife a new Aussie Alfa 159 sportswagon and while we were going round the dealerships looking at BMW,VW, Merc, Audi the lot you would be amased how the salesmen don't know anything about the product they sell. Neither do they follow up a possible sale or anything... its a different world. This reference only applies to about 90% of the industry you do find the odd good one... you just need to work so hard yourself....
I'll quit now as you can see you hit one of my nerves... :-( On the upside its 37c today I will be round the pool get the BBq going, a few beers, a few mates and a good movie in the theatre room tonight with the aircon on... will make my day...!!!
