Yet another red GS...common as muck now

Given that a main dealer suggested my 2004 red, tech cloth, fully specced (all options) with 37k mileage and FMSH was worth 12k to buy or 14k against a Ghibli - I am pleased at anything over £20k.

That is pretty bad....THat would be **** of a mark up even if they had to do some work on the car...Terrible.

Damon, plenty on here who would give you close to 100% more if you were thinking of selling

She is not for sale, sorry if I created a little excitement - I toyed with the thought of a Ghibli, jointly replacing the Gransport and C63 I use every day. The dealership were looking for stock and approached me directly, as they knew the car. Once the offer (loose term for p*** take) was made I laughed and also made the decision to get the car serviced at Shiltech. She goes in on Monday and I have to say if the work is anywhere near the pleasant interaction I have had with Kyle and the team then happy days.

Now upgrading the old girl to 550 brake discs, braided hoses and BMC air filter as well as a 18750 major service. All ready for Le Mans and the Centenary. Need to think about getting the speakers sorted - I have the upgraded items, just need some time and also look at the Becker head unit - I am scanning ebay.de for an appropriate replacement.

All in all she is a keeper, as I have got her back in good shape and don't believe adding another 8k or so miles over the next 2 years will make a big difference to perceived value. Now if that Alfieri does make it into production .....

Silver saloon with black nappa leather interior and 19 inch alloys. Standard power of 450bhp and 430 lb ft of torque. I missed out on a performance pack version with 485bhp and limited slip diff. Looking at 507 run out model.

Absolutely monumental shove and I have to say the soundtrack is immense. Very different to the Gransport V8. The AMG engine is very Nascar. however, you spend all day just riding the torque - 2000 rpm at 70mph is very relaxing.

Get about 23 Mpg in mixed driving and have used it all winter. It does love rear tyres - about 6k for a set of rears.

The best everyday car I have ever owned and the servicing is not so extreme. The last major with a gearbox oil change was about £550. I cannot recommend it enough.

That's it Damon...you've sold it to me....Saw a black one with the black wheels in a car park in Bristol yesterday and had a good look around.....IT just looked such a solid, quaility item........They had a 507 in the Mercedes garage in Bristol yesterday...Looked stunning......

Now that I like a lot....Seen it for sale before...Love the black and red carpets inside....but still can not get past the price low miles or not.........Suppose this is where they are price wise over the last few months.......but then again lots of the ones over 30k have sat around for some time so are they really selling for that sort of money...

Slightly off topic; I have been watching the £30k barrier for a number of brands, and note that the Aston DB9 has slipped below whilst Maserati seem to be staying steady...could be the Centenary year helping, as it did with Porsche 911 and Jag E-Type at their 50th

Not many good DB9 under 30k though Peter...Would say you need 35k plus for a decent one....

The GS is still making good money and lowish mile cars do get good prices, I do quite like them in red too..!!
