Hey Team GCR, apologies for not remembering your forum name! I'd keep both, if I was you and set about upgrading the coupe with a nice exhaust, brakes, Formula Dynamics bits etc while keeping the Spyder original!
I nearly bought a 550M with Fiorano pack a few years ago but stuck with the 993 turbo that I had at the time. It's a lovely machine for sure. The Nuvolari grey car is a fantastic and rare colour too.

No problem, I have a lousy memory for names! Problem is I REALLY want a 550M.... Never had a Porsche, in one sense they don't appeal but I guess that is a box I should tick at some point? But I think a 550 or at some point in the future maybe a Countach a bigger box to tick.

Now you see this forum is dangerous you've had me researching exhausts etc.,.., which Formula Dynamic bits would you suggest?

But I must cut down the cars, decisions made so far 1) The 340R is going in the Spring. 2) The Elan is going if we don't get an entry for Goodwood. 3) Ginetta is going if there is no realistic chance or running it this year.

The Bora and the Tiger stay no matter what, the rest I have haven't decided what to do.

Exhausts is a whole debate of my it's own! Formula Dynamics and many others recommend Larini, which I have, and the noise is truly sublime. Really, I have yet to hear a better noise, Ferrari and Lambo etc included. Trouble is you need the full system to really open the sound and it's a large bundle of cash. Some also find it too loud but I think that this is only the case if you use it as an only car or if you are more into the continent crushing ability rather than the event of each drive. There are some who prefer Quicksilver etc for these reasons which is totally cool and each to their own.

Formula Dynamics offer a host of upgrades and the best places to start are suspension and the drive by wire enhancement module. Actually Mike on here (mjheathcote) has an unused set of their springs for sale for less than half price. The DBW module enhances the shifts and makes more of the CC gearbox whilst also (allegedly) extending clutch life.

After that it's time for brakes. Starting point is better pads (EBC Yellow stuff or similar, lots of choice here), braided hoses and better quality fluids. You can change the callipers and discs to much larger, higher spec too but again this starts to cost serious money.

Finally, more carbon is good! Start with the FD carbon paddles which revolutionise the shifting as the standard paddles are too small for mid turn shifts to be natural. From there, carbon rear spoiler, carbon door inserts and if you really want to get carbonised (!) You can even get headlights in the stuff!!

After all that, a proper suspension set-up and great tyres will give you a GT3 from Italy. More focused, more aggressive and more smiles per mile.

I promise you will add it to your Bora and Tiger on the "never sell" list!

All production cars come with some market driven compromises. You can dial these out and make it your own if you like.

Larinis on mine also, it gurgles in a good way. Think there is a youtube vid if you search under allandwf.

How do the Larinis sound on a 3200 as the turbos knock the volume down....and do they drone at motorway speeds?

They don't drone, my old Cerbera used to drone in 3rd about 40mph quite badly, don't drone at all on the 3200. They are reasonably loud but not overly loud, make it sound purposeful if that makes sense. Never heard them at speed from outside the car though.

Err, what on earth were you doing at 40mph in a Cerbie in 3rd? Please tell me it was a chocolate speed6, the flat-plane cranked 4.2/5 would have been miserable in that gear/speed.

Admittedly with jools whirlwind, I'd only be in 3rd well above 40mph; you bad, bad, man :)

Thanks for all that info, some I did know but lots I did not, much appreciated.

I used to be able to get AP Racing brakes at 'cost' might look into if I still can for the GS.

Hope to get the Spyder at the end of the week and sorting the niggles on the Coupé so looking forward to comparing the two.

The spyder has a much shorter wheelbase (20+ cm, I think) so should be more lively round corners! I've never driven a coupé so don't really know the difference.

You're a lucky man to have them all at your disposal...hope it goes well for you and you get to keep them : )

Went to have a look at this car today. I have been after a red Gransport for an age but this is the first one I have actually seen in the flesh. Coming from Alfa I wanted another red one but this one has made me think twice even though it was immaculate. If you want to know any information please pm me.

I think I now prefer the Blue colour attached

I would go with the silver one because even though I love red the tech cloth just doesn't suit the red but does the silver car......THat red needs full black leather with red piping or cream leather.........Seems priced OK even though not LE........Maybe 22/23k but the miles are low and prices for LE's with double the miles are 27/29k so maybe they are well priced.
