So no mention of it other than in the good morning thread.

As I was just writing England off and saying do we have to endure another penalty shootout and watch England exit again they go and pull that out of the bag. Not see a dirtier team than Colombia since Ardilles Argentina ripped up the 78 World Cup. Honestly we deserved to win in the end and made history in the process.

The Swedes will be tougher opponents with their dogged defenses and they play with a great team spirit as we witnessed against Mexico in particular.

Will leave this here, the man is passionate that's for sure and I love that about him. Just off to Moss Bros to buy a waistcoat :D

As a Brit working for a Swedish company, I finally discover a reason to be interested in football. But probably only until the weekend. :)

Epic, let’s enjoy the journey and see what happens. We are the highest ranked side in our half of the draw. That said, the rankings are a joke as the Swiss are 6th and Chile who didn’t qualify are 9th and Germany who’ve lost 10/12 or something are no. 1!!

Uruguay to win it I think
It would be a massive shame for sport if that were the case. Suarez should have a life ban in my book for 3 biting offences. I’d love karma to catch up with him, like a sending off or penalty miss v us in the final.....

I agree - but unfortunately "the money" surrounding him speaks first and foremost, FIFA need to get a grip, its no point fining these countries for their rule breaking, ban them from competitions, Columbia scored in the 5 minutes of extra time, which they caused by surrounding the ref over the penalty, that said I don't think we were that good really, we were good up until the final 3rd and then it mostly broke down, Sweden will be a bit different, lets just hope the Thomas Brolin effect doesn't re-emerge.....

Cannot disagree with any of the above
I think we all know Football is corrupt from FIFA down to Hartlepool United
I decided not to support the 'game' any more.
'They are not going to get my gold' as Fraser from Dad's Army used to say

Me too, have watched only a handful of matches in the last 15 years and used to be footy mad and played semi-pro. Fell out of love a long time back and discovered what a beautiful game rugby is.

It was a nail biting night for sure, feeling a bit ruined today.

I am more relaxed about the Swedes than those dirty Colombians!

Belgium is my team for winning, they seem to just do enough but it will be interesting to watch

England winning would likely cause the break up of the UK. You southern lot have no idea how much pro-Scottish, nationalist nonsense already goes on since Salmond and Sturgeon became so **** noisy. You may want to still win but for me, as a Scot who is happy to also be a Brit, it would be a disaster bigger than Brexit.

Don't believe me? Don't wish for us to find out the hard way.

It will have a lot to do with the moronic mindset, and mindless tribalism that let's such trivia dictate their vote! Outrun is correct in that sadly it would swing more than a few votes.

What's with all the holding back and pulling.....it just seems 100 times worse than I've ever seen it.....mind you I don't watch the game much. I did watch the England game as my boys had it on and they did deserve to win. How the ref didn't send most of the other eam off is beyond me. Unless they clamp down on this it will only get worse. But England need to go out next game please as work will then get back to normal....

Sweden play a style of football similar to what the English players will see week in week out from many premier league teams. So they should know how to deal with it.....hopefully

Correct, they spread 8 across the back and hope to hit you with pace on the counter. We have a lot of pace in the team so hoping we can defend this threat.

The Sweden game will be a normal premiership game, most of the players will be use to that style but I suspect it will be close and could go either way

Agreed and hence why I am less nervous about playing them than the unpredictable Latinas.

Latinos....not Latinas...but then again we're talking South American 'footballers' so I think you are probably right...

England for the final, the difficult team being Croatia on the way. Belgium will be my pick from the 'other' side of the draw.
