Didn't see it but will try to catch a replay.

Never a big FWD fan to be honest and would agree the golf was a more upmarket car. The original golf was cool and changed the market but from the mk2 on it just looked more and more bloated (only my opinion). In many ways I think the original XR2 has dated better than the Golf and that is probably true of the MK2's too (Mk2 fiesta was chunky where as the golf looked a bit inflated).

The VW's are probably better than the Fords (not convinced but then I like old fords) but if it were as simple as just buying a safe option we would probably be over in the Porsche forum!

I prefer the Mk 1 Fiestas - mate of mine had a sunburst red 1300 Super Sport - rarer than the XR2.

I was only saying recently that I haven't seen an XR3i on the road for donkeys years, yet when I was a lad you'd turn every corner and there was another.

Most been written off by the 80s boy racers or rotted away I guess...

Yes always liked the Super Sport!

I think those that are left are hidden away these days, I know of a few mk1 RS turbos (white lightning's) and RS 16600i which have been put away for safe keeping.

We put my brothers MK2 1600 Sport back on the road last year, they are lots of fun.

I much prefer the Mk1 Fiesta over it's later siblings but the one to have is the 1.3 Supersport. I had one in the day and it was a jewel of a little car.

On the basis of all the WD I have seen the cars generally go for around 5-10% less than what they are advertised at. I would have thought a 3200 is one of the more challenging to sell as most of the enthusiasts who know what they are are well aware of the current market value. They do air some shows with the car not sold but not many.

I guess the 3200 cost them more to put right than anticipated or perhaps Mike didn't get the price low enough at the start. Bang goes the margin.

Yep spot on Athol exactly what I was thinking too. He won't budge cos he doesn't want to get done over. He should have bought a 6k car in the first place!

I bet.....

A few years back, there were 3 or 4 cars on ebay from the series that had been shown some months before. All from the same seller who appeared to be Edd China.

I still like the prog, though. I very much doubt Wrecks to Riches is more accurate, for example.

I enjoy it too, just easy watching with cars involved...

I'm certain a fair amount is rigged and done just for TV anyway...
