Problem with that car is underneath its a Renault Kajar...look below elbow level in the cabin and it really shows.
From persoanl experaince, the Audi Q3 was brilliant albeit quite boring, the Evoque has surprised me with its quality and would have no hesitation to recommend one, its a lovely, lovely vehicle. OK the styling might not be for everyone and was a major concern of mine but if you can see past that and go for a dark colour you will be very pleased. You should be able to get one for £260 plus vat on a 36 plus 9 with a mileage of 8-10k per annum and feel its worth stretching that little bit further for one.
If it a bargain your after, VW/Audi are always dropping in some stunners, a descent Golf D can be had for about half that of the Evoque.
I know MLC recently got the Seat version of the Golf for a crazy stupid deal.
There is also an Infinity that they cant give away for love nor money, the styling is very Meh, but you get a fully loaded quality car with a 2.2 200hp D for £150 plus VAT. It has everything as standard, nav, leather, the lot.
If its cheap and cheerful city car that your after, then you cant go wrong with a Fiat 500 if your secure in your masculinity of course. Dont get the 1.2, its gutless but the car is very well screwed together and my only complaint was the seats, so try and get something with side support/upgraded seats.
