Someone is going to catch something eventually. Too many tall tails here. On a scale of 1 to 10 this thread is getting low. Too many shoal offs here.

If anyone from Maserati is keeping an eye on this thread, they'll think we've all gone mad! I mean there's a few red herrings been thrown in recently!

I'm lost... 204 pages of thread to sift through... Has there been a production run of the control arms both front and rear or are they still about £1k each? I remember reading that someone might also be considering making a pattern part, did anything happen about this? Sorry to be so lazy but there is only so many pages of fish jokes that I cod hake, it would be nice if there was a summary in one plaice.

In summary:

- you should get a letter from Maserati advising you to get wishbones inspected (yet to get mine)
- Maserati is not offering to replace with better part, you are on your own replacement / expense wise
- the wishbones now on sale have been redesigned and look stronger around the weak spot
- there did seem to be some for sale 400ish but not sure if still the case or back to 1000
- murmurs of action in the background which I would guess will be in manner of brake disc action but nothing announced yet.

I suspect many of us are awaiting further developments on this forum, recognising Maserati's failure to offer to replace the parts.

I had better get mine inspected then, I know the rear drivers side control arm bush is on its way out so I need one of those at the very least. Thanks for the info.

Do you mean the track control bush? That is no reason to buy a new wishbone. You can replace them like for like for £15 (plus fitting) or go for a kit like Craig's or buy the upgraded Hills Engineering version.

Regarding the redesign - the new front wishbones look the same but are finished better with the excess material from the casting / forging removed. The new rear arm is a different design.

Also, when inspecting it is important to check the bushes. It is possible that failure of the rubber has a hammer effect which contributes to the cracking.

Not sure, at the MOT they gave the wheel a wobble and said it had some play, a guy went underneath while the guy was wobbling it and said it was the control arm i think it was the bush(?) In the pictures its the black bit with a threaded bolt sticking out of that I think the hub sits in? On the other side the track rod is on its way out but I have a kit from Craig to put on so thats fine.

Sounds like the ball joint so you're right - new wishbone...
