To garage or not?

I sit here in my front sitting room (notice I didn't say lounge room - see, I'm getting the hang of this 'English' thing :mock8:) and look across the street to my beautiful Maserati. Yes, you read that correctly. Across the street. My dear elderly neighbour allows me to park it in her driveway as I don't have enough space on my side of the street.
I have been seriously contemplating whether to move to a house with a double garage so 2 of my cars are out of the weather.
Does anyone else leave their cars outside? Every day the car is dusty, or wet. I'm not sure what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Merrian

Merrian, I'm sure you know I'm horrified its not in a garage. Sell up...get a lovely garage for her...Other than that leave her in my garage if you wish....

Dilema really! I garage mine but lots on here don't. I think if I had a MCS I would definitely garage it but it all depends what area you are in.

If you move to a house with an integral garage you can simply pop into the garage whenever you want to drool over your clean MCS Merrian! :approve:

I think you should look at moving house, you are lucky enough to have a good neighbour but if anything where to happen there you could be forced into making a quick decision
never ideal when moving house and the thought of parking the "yellow one" on the street in London would horrify me - she deserves better :thumb3:

Most of my neighbours use their garage to store a few hundred pounds of junk and scrap...whilst leaving the best part of £30-50k rusting on the drive.

You need to move Blondie. On my road, most people have converted their garages into studies, So I demolished mine,...... and built a bigger garage!

First thing I've always said when asked by estates agents as to what I want in a house is a garage. They do look surprised but that's what I want, number of bedrooms and rough cost is next on the list but Garage is paramount for me. Does that answer your question?

You can't beat walking into an integral garage in your socks from within the house!
Also being integral, usually warm and dry.
Disadvantage can be lack of storage with no roof space if rooms above.

An intigral garage is a wonderful thing and one which I don't have at the moment. But it does make it easier to be found. Other side of the garden has certain advantages, in case you're feeling reclusive at any time.

I wouldn't have bought mine if I didn't have a double garage. I'm happy to leave the wife's BMW on the drive but I can't believe that leaving a Maserati outside all the time in the UK is going to be good for it!

That's cool.
Before we moved, saw a house that had a single integral but the room adjacent was just asking for a second garage spot. You could nicely fit internal bi-fold glass doors from the lounge, not sure if permissable regarding UK building regulations though.
It was not to be, but happy with double integral in the house we bought though.
