Morning, Forum. Well, it's hot and sunny out east today. Was nice to wake up in my own bed this morning, and at ground level. Today will mostly be spent fitting new tyres and rear pads, assuming they arrive at a good time from EBC, and washing the car, which is bloody filthy. The garden also seems to have turned into a hairy monster in the last week and needs napalming.

Hi Adam, links to Pads please, Did you go Yellow or Green?

Yellow, mate. £168 or thereabouts direct from EBC. eBay pricing looked about the same. I'm already running yellows on the front and have been really impressed. I *think* they're a bit dustier than the standard ones I had on previously, but the big advantage is that they seem to work. They don't have the brake-wear sensor strip, but happily it's really easy to know when your break pads are wearing down without a little light to tell you.

Anyway, what's with this bloody thunder, lightening and rain??

Good morning everyone. Out shopping with the Mrs, last viewing on the house. I thought we'd keep them going in case someone wants to go crazy. Now we can relax and let the solicitors do their thang..

I had a day off yesterday and loved it......went to The 02 in Finchley Road and had some lunch while i waited for Optimax to give me a consultation for laser eye surgery

Anyone here with any advice for laser eye surgery? Hate wearing contacts

I haven't read all the replies to this.

But two of my friends had it a few years ago and the problem they have now is driving at night. The problem is to do with glare. Apparently there is no satisfactory solution to this!

So please check this before you do it!

Plus their eyesight has deteriorated a little so one of them is back to wearing glasses! But at a very low prescription.

Luckily for me I like wearing glasses. Makes me look smarter and older :p.

Good Morning everyone,
Speaking of eyes, yes you only get one pair. I wore contacts up till I was 40, then decided that pulling them in and out every night was rubbish so I just use specs. I went to the opticians recently and they've spotted enlarged nerve endings on the retinal scan, which is a possible early sign of glaucoma. I've had the pressure test and peripheral eye test but nothing is wrong with my vision. As a caution the Specsavers optician has referred me to my GP who has referred me to the Specialist Eye hospital. I go on Saturday for another peripheral eye test and the main appointment next Friday (2nd)...so hopefully it's nothing.

Fingers crossed it is nothing.

My entire family on my dads side had glaucoma. So I know Moorfields inside out. I have been going there since I was 12 both accompanying my dad and being tested.

See what they say. If you have BUPA you can get them to do a second opinion as well. I can recommend a good specialist. Because once you start the drops there is no going back.

You also want to be careful which drops they give you as they do have side effects.

Depending on what they say feel free to PM me.

Morning all. Up early-ish as I'm playing footy this morning.

Will be taking the Maser as I want to add to the 200 miles I did yesterday to get past that 1000 miles mark.
It's quite a difficult car to drive sensibly when you just want to hear that engine roar to 7,000 rpm in every gear but aren't allowed.

Mind you I reckon I'll have the 1000 miles done this week before we go to Rome.

A very pleasant day yesterday working with Alex stripping large parts of the new BMW R65 to get how he wants it, new flat(ish) bars, switches, controls and throttle among the first parts. The barrel was missing from the end of the clutch cable n!pple so I made a new one, it is the smallest component I have made on the lathe and for some years but works perfectly. Today I have to unload and reorganise the Volvo after several weeks of intense work out of it it is just loaded to window level in a chaotic mess. Bought a whole load of plastic stacker boxes in a hope I can be more organised. Also the 156 is up today so hopefully someone will see the potential in it.

Maybe cut the lawn, put up some pictures for Christine and even fit the loft ladder I got in Lidl yesterday for £34!

Have fun all...
