Chr1st....1600 quid....what are they made of.....some rare South American hardwood only found in the deepest darkest depths of a remote rain forest

Nope, but the whole lot is 16 panels. It got worse before I got home. And by then there's nothing to do but see what's left when the wind drops

Nah, your OK. Worse thing is it isn't even my car. Having a chat with the owner, a friend of mine tomorrow morning.

Let's hope your friend is understanding. We're used to high winds here - that and the fact most buildings in the area are built from sandstone.

A few years back I had a short contretemps with a visiting French architecture student. Offering advise to a pal on how best to construct his small out building. I'd suggested breeze block and cladding given it would be exposed. Mais non, just use wood was the answer. I asked if he'd built anything in Scotland before, or anything for that matter, unfortunately, "Your talking Le Bo**ocks" didn't translate too well.

Hope the Spider gets better soon.

I hope the Spider does too. It hasn't dampened my polytunnel ideas as they are perfect for storing cars and have been working really well. Just need to make sure I bolster the ground anchors and maybe a tethering rope or two over the top as well might not be a bad idea.

Would gravel boards be excessive? Unsightly perhaps but they could be buried. With drilled anchor points the cover wouldn't be likely to shift. Not expensive either.

Morning all,

Early start again. Too much to do, too little time. Need the weekend off though so have to put the hours in today.

Had a weird dream that the Ghibli had been chewed on by rats. Strange because it was in a garage and I don't have one of those.

Have a good Friday all

Morning all. So Mick, you have rats, but no garage? That *is* odd. ;)

Day off today, although bit of work to be done. Down to Battersea for an industry event followed by a helicopter flight over London :)

Have a greta day, all

Good Morning chaps,

All quiet after the storm now, there still a bit of wind but nothing like yesterday. Mrs MLC is going to the McLaren F1 launch today, lucky girl. Hobnobbing with Fernando, Jenson and the other one...no Ron Dennis this year, Honda have high hopes, with major changes to the engine. She's also off to Barcelona for some of the testing...whilst some of us work the weekend...very lucky girl.
