Morning all, Friday at last so great news.

Have fun up the Shard Phil, it's a fantastic experience and you'll be getting a perfect view of those poppies too that have been mentioned in the news from time to time.

Have a good one everybody

Stewart, It depends on what you want to pay, but the Jumeriah Beach Hotel is good, which is next to the Burj Al Arab which is mega on all counts. I have stayed at the Atlantis further up the coast and it has some nice features, but it all depends on what you are looking for..??

Agreed with gaucho, it's a theme restaurant as far as I'm concerned...tried for the theatricality of some of US steakhouses but never got there.

The beard may be coming off tomorrow in preparation for a good old Lemmy-style chops 'n tache for Movember. Not been bare-faced for 6 years though!

So, I had an interesting start to the morning when the media screen on my GTS stayed bright and white for the first 10 miles, and unresponsive to any buttons or knobs being twiddled, and then about 1/2 mile from my destination suddenly booted itself and went into Trident screen as normal.

Is this a known problem? Or does mine just have a 'wake up' problem on cool winter mornings.

Speaking of mornings, and being a relative newbie to all things Maser, does the GTS always act like a grumpy dog until it gets to 60 deg of temp? The gearbox grabs and it really doesn't want to know until warm. Manouvering on a slope is a 'mare when cold.

I find that some of the Argentinian Steak Houses tend to salt the meat quite a lot, not the best way to cook meat..!!

A light sprinkle is fine, but some steaks I have had have a heavy salt taste which is not fine, I would rather taste a good quality meat than have it masked by loads of salt..!!

Very heavy salt with big crystals for 15 minutes, then rinse it all off & pat dry. No salt taste at all, and very tender steaks. I really mean heavy...

It's probably just me, I like good quality meat and be able to taste just that, I agree some use salt to cure the meat a bit, but when the meat is salty I find it spoils the taste..!! If the meat is a bit iffy to start with, all the salt does is mask this..!!

No, not at all. What I described merely breaks down the fibres in the meat, making it more tender. There will be no taste of salt whatsoever.

That would do for me, but steer clear of the salty meat restaurants, which is where all this started..!!
