said King Canute, who lived just up the road from me in Shaftesbury.
Did you know that he didn’t?

That was a reverse of what he actually did. Propagated spread by the following monarchs.

His advisers said he was all powerful and ordained by god. Canute said, if that was the case he’d be able to hold back the tide. So he went to the beach to show he couldn’t.

Talking of speed limits, I escaped by the skin of my teeth after committing this heinous crime. I've just bought my 2003 1.4 Ford Fiesta and must try to keep all that power under control.

I recently saw a couple of 'community support volunteers' with their 'Police' hi viz jackets monitoring traffic speed, and the one with the camera was panning as traffic passed him; whether he thought he was giving drivers a stern warning or was just a dippy idjut I'm not sure.

Don’t know what you’re all worried about THEY can already control you via nanobots dropped from chemtrails.

The scary thing is the number of people that believe this is actually true.

Indeed. This is what I was taught

Yeah never been happier being in my 60's that I will avoid most of this future they are trying to impose on us.
My two kids can have fun sorting all my stuff out here in France too.

Good grief! How depressing to say, in effect, "Thank goodness I will be dead soon, so I don't have to face knowing that other people who are buying new cars may be forced to use electricity and have reversing cameras, or to deal with my insurer (or taxer) charging me per mile, not per year". Sheesh!

Ely(Cambs version) near me is going Full Wales by making everywhere 20 mph limit soon. To be fair the roads in Ely run through pedestrian shopping areas so they might have a point but as we all know the 20 zone will be extended to somewhere which doesn’t warrant to be as low as 20.
