The cyclist rides into the side of the truck and its the cyclist that leaves the scene.
What a numpty. Cycle in the wrong lane in the blind spot of a 40ft truck and then wonder why it hurts when you cycle into it.
Nice to see the cyclists using the pavement as well as the wrong lanes as there own private road. Its ok though because its London. Highway code means nothing to some people.
Living (almost) and working in London this is a situation we see and hear about almost everyday, the ever busy Bank interchange in The City has now been closed to cars and lorries due to the number of 'accidents' with cyclists - still open to buses, it has caused traffic chaos in the area some roads are just an endless queue of busses, a van, more busses, a lorry, several more busses, another van and even more busses.
Tooley St - before it was closed one way was a haven for lycra clad idiots, head down, ar4se up Tour-de-France style travelling considerably faster than the crawl of 4 wheel traffic, jumping red lights, swerving in and out of lanes and generally thinking they own the road.
Personally whilst I feel sorry for the genuine accidents cyclists have, I have witnessed the idiocy of some who for some reason think and act as if they are invincible against a 44 ton truck or even a car.
In this case the cyclists are wrong, some jumped the lights as they balance on the pedals desperate to make up the extra 2 feet, all are in a left turn only lane - imagine the uproar if it was a Porsche out dragging the truck to gain a few car lengths.
A lucky escape and one that seems to be in the truck drivers (rightly) favour, based on public opinion of You Tube / Facebook and Sports Maserati
