Roof Down Drives in Europe on youtube - it's Mr RR's posts of some of the footage from our June exploits around the Swiss Alps, Stelvio, etc (more to come)

You may have seen that YouTube has increased the intrusiveness of advertising over the past year, and has now started a war against Adblockers.

Currently the best experience is using Firefox as your browser and uBlock as the blocker. Although AdBlock over Chrome is still pretty good.

Apparently installation of Adblockers is increasing exponentially as people who used to just tolerate the ads have now heard that something can be done.

It's a tricky one. Even our favourite social media is (at least in part) funded by ads......

Yup. And that's OK, I suppose, although I think the world would work better, in general, if just we paid for what we chose to consume.

But YT is getting ridiculous with a strange strategy of large amounts of ads; paradoxically aimed both at driving up revenue and driving people to their ad-free subscription model.

A very Good video and praise for Matt and Team at SI.
Loved using mine as Daily Drivers back living in the UK.
People thought I was mad sharing my driving between a 4200 and the 456 and after that the 360 but it certainly got me known in Weston super Mare and the Garage I worked for got a lot of business coming in as a result of it.
In the Pub opposite my house they called me Enzo fun times indeed.

Just watched a Good Film with George C Scott The Last Run 1971.
I'm sure Liam Neeson based himself on this character.
Well worth watching.

An honest review on one of our own

His maintenance is 90p a mile . Mine (a QP 4.2 Auto )is 95p a mile
His maintenance/improvements is £10K a year in 2 years, mine is £4.5K per year in 9 years
He has done 22K miles in 2 years, I've now done 43K in 9 years
Both have wanted for nothing so his estimate of 3k - 4k a year is accurate to keep in tip top shape, but it will come in lumps!

Some will be lucky and get away with far less, but perhaps will not do so much mileage which is a real shame as these are practical cars

The more you drive these cars the better they are. Do a search in Europe for a GranTurismo - cars with less than 60k+ on the clock are the exceptions rather than the norm...

The most reliable car I have ever had - a LHD Porsche 928 GT with 310,000km on the clock. I took it to 400,000km over two years, doing trips to the Alps, Italy, the Ring and Scotland, and except regular service, cost me the grand total of two blown fuses and a Bosch fuel pump at £75...

Seems a genuine guy. Costs are very high for 2 years of ownership, but obviously due to unlucky timing and wanting it in tip top condition asap. To have to do clutch, bushes, variators, paint etc in your first two years is unfortunate. But hopefully the costs will level out for a few years now.

Also, surely something is not quite right if he's only getting 12mpg on a run!
