Talk to me more about your California, mate has one and loves it but he hasn't owned a GT so hard to get a relative feel.

Hi paul.
I am not sure how much I can say on this forum - but as its Italian.. Shouldn't face as much stick as the Audi Thread!
The first and most important question is - do I prefer it to the GTS. The answer is unquestionably. It suits my needs better. For someone with young children who want to be able to use a car that puts a smile on your face and looks rare, and can take to work and park at the local sainsburys it fits the bill.
I am blown away by it in many ways. It does the GT car well in that its comfortable, well specced, can be quiet on long journeys and not too uneconomical.
But I don't give a **** about that side of it. I always drive it with the paddles, top down as much as possible (to hear the exhaust better - not to look a dick). Its a different league driving wise to the GTS, much faster and more compact. To me it feels like a sports car when driven like that, as much a sports car as you need on 95% of the roads in the UK. And you can have a mate in the back seats or two little ones.
The back seats are obviously much smaller than the GTS, but it can fit my daughter in and mates on short journeys so thats all its needed for. I think I used the back seats on the GTS around 5 times for adults in a year.
The leather inside is luxurious - better than the GTs IMO. The tech is better, but I can't comment on the New Maserati Unit.
Its not a fair comparison as the Cali was a '30 and was considerably more than double the price of the GTS.
Looks are subjective but it looks pretty aggressive and compact. The Scuderia shields are a must, as are the Yellow Rev Counter, Carbon LED Wheel and contrast calipers. These options along with extra interior and exterior carbon bits make it look better IMO. I would take my old GTs looks wise vs a Standard Pre- 2012 Cali (at 45k vs 90k) but with the right options The Ferrari looks better.
The GTs sounds better (at low revs) - over 4,000 its debateable. I have the special handling pack and sports exhaust on mine, so a standard Cali wouldn't sound anything like the GTs and the Cali T doesn't sound as good as a GTs IMO.
All in all the Cali is the perfect compromise car, as it does the GT thing (if thats whats needed) and the Sports Car thing well. Anyone who says its not a Real Ferrari, I think has issues.
In an ideal world, and my medium term plan, it to have a Strad (for the 4 seats and theatre) and a 458 as I think they are Class leaders in their Roles.
But I am very happy with a Cali at the moment in Combination alongside a run around. The 458/Strad combination might be based on what would look good in the garage rather than what I need and is sensible though.
