Gents, I have a Maserati "Product Information & Pricing" book dated April 1st 2006 which clearly states it as a Maserati GranSport Spyder, discuss!. (If I had the technical ability I'd scan it and show you all!), ADG

From the Maserati web site...Clearly says Maserati 90th Anniversary Spyder.....and I quote..

'The more sporty look of the GranSport Spyder was anticipated by the adoption of new front and rear bumpers, together with more pronounced sill covers'

Maserati Spyder 90th Anniversary
2004 In 2004 Maserati celebrated the 90th Anniversary of the company's founding with a triple event organized in Italy and culminating in Rome, where some 300 Maseratis gathered together. As a further way of honoring the landmark a special limited-edition model of the Spyder was introduced, with production limited to just 90 units. It was officially presented in September 2004 at the Paris motor show, in the same month as the celebrations were taking place.

The more sporty look of the GranSport Spyder was anticipated by the adoption of new front and rear bumpers, together with more pronounced sill covers. This version of the Spyder also featured lightweight carbon-fiber rear roll-hoop fairings inlayed with attractive blue polyester strands embedded into the weave. Finished in either the exclusive Blu Anniversary livery or silver, the Spyder 90th Anniversary sported exclusive design features including distinctive oval Trident logos on the front wings, paying homage to the 250F driven by Fangio in the 1957 Formula 1 World Championship. Headlight cluster mountings were in contrasting grey, emphasizing the profile of the hood and chrome door handles, and ball-polished 19" rim wheels (with titanium colored brake calipers) and the classic red-striped Trident adorning the front grille completed the exterior look.

Blue carbon fiber was also present in the car's cockpit, enhancing the upper and lower sections of the center console and matching the blue and cream two-tone leather lining the seats, dashboard and door panels. The 90th Anniversary model featured a grouped centre console with blue-starter button and high-performance stereo system in place of the Maserati Info Center LCD display screen. A commemorative plaque on the lower console indicated each car's serial number.

I agree, I love the colour, if I could find one at the right price I would probably take the plunge..!! The whole thing about the "Gransport" and the "Spyder" bits is strange and confusing, Maserati say one thing, then don't, others call it this and that, I think as it looks like a Gransport Spyder Anniversary, that's what I'll call it, I know what I mean..!!

Who cares if it's a GranSport Spyder or not?!
It's got the body kit
It's got the wheels
It's got the dash
It's got the seats

In fact, what has it not got, maybe not the valved exhaust? Easily sorted.

If I was after a spyder and it was in my budget, I would buy it!

Not so keen on the humps behind your head but a beauty nonetheless.
Lovely colour too.

Good luck with the sale.

Mike it has the exhaust and trim of the GS too...in fact I would be interested in knowing what is different between the two...or is it all in the name?

Sort of agree...I'ts a GS in spirit but if someone is advertising a car as Gransport Spyder then its just not correct and a GS Spyder is worth more than an Anniversary by a few k. So you need to now what you are buing.

That's a surprise, a GS Spyder is worth more than the Ann' Spyder, best tell the seller chaps..!!

I would tend to disagree with that Andy. IMO, an anniversary is everything a GS spyder is and more, and there are fewer of them. The anniversary is worth several k more than a standard GS.

If you look at ones that have come up the are always less than a GS Spyder.......a GS last year was around 35 to 40 where as an Anniversary was 28/30k.......Look I'm not saying its not worth the same as a GS Spyder or its any worse......But its not a GS Spyder as the owner of this one has not called it so so is spot on....As his thread says...I know what I have.........a Spyder 90th Anniversary.....If I want and Anniversary I would buy an Anniversary...If I want a GS Spyder I would buy a GS Spyder.........Don't agree it more Ian......Unless you count the humps wich is a very love / hate addition which makes the market for them smaller......

As I said it's a great car and I hope it sells quickly for him....

Whatever they call it, it is a GS spyder by another name, in the same way mine isn't a 3200 spyder but that is what they were originally called, apparently. The anniversary also has badges inset in the front wings and hard backs to the seats in addition of the love it/hate it head humps. I'm not arguing the toss here but there is nothing on a GS spyder that an anniversary doesn't have.

Ian, same here......It looks like a GS...probably goes like one...and if ou like the humps then go for it as its a great car.
