Andy,

France used to have yellow lights as they create less stress on the eyes of drivers, and surprisingly( due to EU regs) they were phased out...one of the few times France followed the rules.

I guess that the car may have been used for continental journeys in the past.

It may be just yellow bulbs rather than yellow glass, and most glass was just painted with special transparent paint.

Definitly had some continental journeys as it was first registered in Paris and it's a left hander.
Only 55k km's is quite low.
One day perhaps I'll stretch to one of these. I've always loved the shape.

Guys I used to have a shamal in 1999 and all I can say there is something special about a Shamal .

I love the rear wings .

You are right Marios, looks great esp with the black and cream.

I had a magazine rom 1991 with a article on the first one brought to the UK for Maridian Modena, entitled Trident Tested. It was a red car with black leather. It was also a great read and quiet a surprise to see the investment being made by MM as we were only just starting to come out of a recession (Again)

The Shamal is my favourite 90s Maserati, there is just something about it that's a bit special

With £5k or so to add for the buyer's premium the guide price starts to look a bit strong for LHD.

So it is...hens teeth spring to mind.

Now if it was Red I think I would be tempted to re-mortgage

That emblem car looks to have colour mismatch along the side, unless it is the photos and angles..??

I saw the car when last at Emblem and it was truly scrumptious inside, outside, and underbonnet; I think the photo gives a false impression due to the pronounced body contours. Although Shamals do look better in red, Emblem's car would be on my shopping list if funds allowed.

The Shamal at auction is Dicky Grace's personal car (not to be confused with the one he has on SOR) and has been subject to much recent expenditure. He assures me it's spot-on and I'm of a mind to believe him. Prices are hard to call as very few come up for sale in the UK - this auction may well be used as a barometer for the true market.

I've made an offer on the Emblem car, but both I and the owner are waiting to see what happens at the auction. Tense times!

I hope it goes well for you Ewan, it's a rare car that deserves an appreciative owner.
