Hello everyone,
After about 10 years since owning a Maserati the itch has finally got the better of me and on the verge of trading in my M6 GranCoupe for a 15/16/17 auto Granturismo (i.e. post facelift).
Could I ask a few random questions to help me decide what age car to get - it's not as simple as older is cheaper as the residuals on a well priced newer car often mean the increased monthlies are negligible. Plus a couple of spec questions...
Firstly, would the 12m warranty provided on a 15 plate car from a main dealer be exactly like the manufacturers warranty on a younger car or should I be dubious?
Secondly, has anyone experience of the carbon steering wheel - my concern is it looks great but is it practical i.e. would it be slippy? Good or bad?
Thirdly, if I get a younger car with manufacturers warranty remaining, what happens when it expires - can I then extend? If so, is there any reduction in cover, and any idea of rough annual cost?
Fourthly (is that a word!), any ballpark figures on what a service costs (big and small) from a main dealer, as my benchmark is way out of date.
My thoughts are that the sensible money is on a low mileage 16 plate car as it's already depreciated further plus will have up to 12 months manufacturers warranty as protection. Budget is around the low £60k's but obviously residuals & trade-in figures make this a stab in the dark.
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers.
Roger
