It is the Giraffe , its name from Roman times, as the spotted camel.

As they were nit seen by most in Europe many camels were painted with spots and sold as giraffes.

What? As in "I'm just nipping to the forum to get a giraffe dear" "Well make sure you don't come back with a camel this teim!"

Good god. The Christmas channel is of some educational use!

Was round the MIL's yesterday and this was mentioned in one of the films they were showing (looked awful by the way).
A poronkusema is the distance which a reindeer could go before having to stop for a p!ss! :f2:

It's also used as a rough term of measurement in some Scandinavian countries. It's about 4 1/2 miles.

The was one in india built on a beach. Im sumising from you saying its not on a beach that the Indian record has been broken.

No idea where but was it built in a quarry ?
The foot print area would need to be large to support 16 meters in height.

I was thinking India too, I thought there was a 15m one built earlier this year
