There must have been some strange circumstance as I thought woman didn't get the vote in the UK until the 1900s.

So how about somewhere like the IOM, they always have strange rules, and lets guess 1880

Well done Martin, it was Manchester in 1867. A woman named Lily Maxwell who was a rates payer and therefore eligible to vote. The loophole in the law was changed to exclude women the following year. There were doubtlessly other women earlier who disguised themselves as men and got away with it however Lily was the first recorded woman.

Over to you Martin.

Well, I'll jump in with a quick one because this is pretty cool. In the picture below, of sunset from last night, why is there a band of orange a good few degrees above the horizon, rather than on it?

Light scattering from molecules in the air , I can't remember it all exactly but I think that's the gist of it.

Well, that's why the orange and reds are the colours of sunset... They bend/refract more than the other colours, so end up at the bottom.
Thing is in this case, there's then a band of blue beneath the orange.
There's hardly any pollution near me in rural Burgundy.
It's an astronomical phenomenon.

Effect of gravity causing light to bend? I believe that occurs with massive astronomical bodies, but not sure whether to sufficient a degree to cause the effect in the photo.

I was going to say something like refraction in the atmosphere, but I can't remember my A level physics enough to be confident.
