Well chaps you are all miles away so I think it may be too difficult - apologies as this is not the intention
So I will give some clues and alter the Q a bit and reveal all tonight
The boy in question is European and died in 1941, so if you can get the country of origin then that will do
He was mates with Elgar, he has a Hollywood star of fame on the pavement and was buried in Arlington cemetery only to be removed later to his native country

Heath the grocer (among other dubious things) pales into insignificance compared to that!

George Orwell bit which book not 1984, Animal Farm or A road to Wigan Pier so probably one of the early ones but not sure which one
