I had adaptive LED matrix on the S Class MD i had in the spring... well impressed with the intelligent high beam and how it just moved the beam about so not dazzle other drivers.

my 06 does have TPMS but could happily live without it. Headlights point vaguely ahead only without direction change, The illumination is variable though, when nearside main Xenon turns intermittently off. Countered by fog lights always on until I get car back and sort it.

Gosh mine is really poverty spec in comparison!

What's "Adaptive parking assistance"?
Eb
Haha - apologies Eb, no it's just plain old parking assistance. The adaptive element relates to what day if the week it is on any given month as to whether they work or not :)

OK first tentative steps for this was nothing more than check the wiring. I can confirm there is no other sensor apparent other than the self levelling sensor on the near side (RHD) front lower wish bone arm. This side also has the brake pad wear sensor (although mine had been tied out of the way and wasn't actually fitted to the pad).
There is nothing on the offside at all.
Took a peek in the back of the offside headlight unit whilst in situ (took the cap off) and instantly chickened out of any further investigation.
Gordon Bennett - looks like the inside of the Hubble telescope in there .......
Replaced cap
Replaced arch liner
Replaced wheel
Replaced on the ground
Ran away......

I'll let you know if it's fixed
Cheers
Ian.

PS. I'm assuming then there must be a steering position sensor somewhere where the sun doesn't shine then.

Did you look at the rear suspension?

Some systems have two sensors one front and one rear.

There is one on the n/s rear too according to drawings.

Is the ALC not located under n/s light? I have read they fill with water. I cannot see a self levelling sensor controlling these. Hax to be a steering input. No experience with maserati but any other car I have had with adaptive all move even if stationary.

Yes there are 2 levelling sensors - one on the rear suspension too. The diagram shows them exactly the same as mine.
So is the turning control box the bottom of the 2 silver boxes on the back of the headlight?
There might have been water ingress as there is a tiny amount of white 'corrosion' around edges of this box too.
Stay tuned :)

It sits underneath according to the drawing and there is only one.

Thanks @Gazcw ,
There is one on the other side too. I knew I should have taken a photo (doh!) - but if you take a look at the picture of this one on ebay, you can just see the same unit on the base of the drivers side unit. This looks exactly like mine - although mine has the smoked lens for the Sport GTS:

In fact if you just list Maserati headlight QP on ebay you can see a picture for both sides. SO, I wonder if the uppy downy control box also controls the side to sidey function too?
The near side unit has an extra cable connected to it at the top though.

So if there is an ALC on each and both do no work, I wonder if n/s is the main control with the extra wire or the sensor or feed from the steering input has failed. I think you need to plug it in and see if any errors are showing before going further.
