When we started being bombarded with American TV shows, I think and when pumpkins were made readily available. They do smell better than turnips after a few days though.

Oh God! I had forgotten it is Halloween. I must remember to switch off the lights and draw the curtains.

A few years ago I was staying with friends in suburban California at Halloween. I was asked to so some door answering, so when small kids on the doorstep said, 'Trick or Treat' I would answer in my most James Mason accent, "Well, I think I would probably prefer 'Trick', if you don't mind." There would be a perplexed silence, and then the parents would sprint up from the sidewalk, from where they had been watching, to the doorstep and they would grab their kids and run away.

Later on we went out to a bar and after a while the barkeep said, "Is that accent your entire Halloween costume?"

Bah!

I used to house share with a really nice vegan hippy. The peace and love sort not the modern day Greta type. Being students there wasnt much in the house you could give a child so when kids came round trick or treat he’d give them vegetables. The looks of confusion on their little faces when given a potato or onion was hysterical

Will be a sad sight at the local tips next week with millions of tones of rotting pumpkins... and all the parents going on about climate change etc.

I took this photo a month ago having seen that post. I then saw Friday’s post…
Hey, no need to apologise! I was merely interested!

And there! Thanks @makeshiftUK

I took this photo 24th September having seen the 24th August post. I then decided it was way past the date to bother to add my picture. Imagine my surprise to see the Waterloo Citroens
yet again. I feel like I’m in some kinda time machine.

My office is about a 7min walk from this road (or 4min jog if you’re running back and late for a Zoom meeting), so expect more updates from Roupell Street, London!

Completely agree, I bet the majority of the innards were thrown away too. No pumpkin pie or such.
