interesting history. Originally all owned by King John.

They missed all the interesting stuff about Tim Landon. His rise to power in Oman was supposedly because he shagging the Sultan’s son who later took power. He also got caught smuggling heavy guns and was the one at the centre of the dodgy Erikkson phone deal

Agreed - my first car was an Austin 1300, had no problem keeping up with mates with mini 850 / 1000……. Plus much more room in the back in which to fully enjoy one’s youth ;)
And mine p**ed all over the spitfires and mgb's my friends had down the Surrey lanes.

I haven’t followed banger racing for 35+ years, wasn’t one of the rules that it could have any engine size but it had to have a single carburettor? That was one of the reasons they used to love old jags, especially herses.

I've been once to Dover Raceway (rubbish) since moving to Kent.

So sad that Arena Essex shut down as it was a great place to watch banger racing.

I bought this one in the 1980's with around 80k on the clock, and retired it about 20 years later with well over 200k. The intention was then to do a nut and bolt restoration, but when I totted up the cost it didn't make sense so I bought the Assetto Corsa - which made even less sense lol. A good Scim is a joy.
