It keeps it manageable in the 4200 but in the cold and wet it is sometime advisable to wear brown trousers just in case; watch out for cold tyres after a short stop particularly :D

Picked it up Sunday. Simply stunning - the noise is totally addictive

Sadly working away from home this week, bring on Saturday morning!

Pics to follow.

Nose film - interesting you say that. I've heard different views on whether they pick up chips or not. Is the nose film invisible? would be a shame to spoil the lines of this beauty. Would you recommend fitting at main agent or elsewhere?

They do, they do! They're like stone-chip magnets. Wish I'd got mine coated after the last nose-spray.

And welcome L-mac. Gorgeous car. Enjoy every moment.

I've driven a Jag xfr for the last couple of years (510bhp / 460lb ft) - similar story with its "dynamic mode". In the dry it tightens up suspension, throttle and steering. In the wet its "fish tail" mode. though jaguar swear it doesnt affect traction / stability control.........................

You're right - it bloody does affect (effect? - can never remember) stability. I had one for a couple of years and you could easily get the tail to swing out if your floor it in the grease, even at 50+.

A warm welcome to the forum L and a lovely choice of car, you will not be sorry..!! Maserati "Sport" mode is just that, it allows the car to be a drivers car, but get used to the car before you start to push too hard. In the wet the tail can get a bit loose in sport, so care in the bends..!! If you have had an XFR you will be used to a bit of power, so do what you like doing and drive it, but watch the break points..!!

Affect is what it does, effect is what it has.

'It bloody does affect stability. It has a profound effect on the tail swingability' ;)

Congrats on your purchase. Interested to get a running report as I hope you be purchasing an older version of your car in the spring.

thanks, and yes I will do.

I did 300 or so miles in it on Sunday after collection..........first impressions :

build quality feels pretty bullet proof. (I tried a couple of 2/3 year old, 10-20k mile cars previously and they felt nearly as good)
sat nav / stereo is prehistoric.
the noise is utterly addictive - worth the spend for that alone.
the car gets an overwhelmingly positive reaction on the road - I got none of the grief which goes with many expensive cars, plus more than a few compliments on the way.
most of the journey was motorway miles so cant really comment yet on handling

I am in the haslemere / petworth area so if you are passing you are more than welcome to drop in and take a look - or more importantly a listen!

you mentioned meridien a few posts back. Talk to James is sales down there - he spent an age taking me through the differences in the various models and helping me choose. really helpful and not at all pushy. I feel a little guilty about buying elsewhere, but money talks.

good luck with your search - enjoy it, I am sure you will have no regrets.

happy hunting.
