Hahahaha...yes remember that.....The man lived to excess and to be honest with his life style he did well to reach 70. Many happy memories of Motorhead in my school days.

Just turned on the news, and heard. Passing of a Legend. As said, not for everyone, but I had the pleasure to see them at least 3 times, and when I played drums in a rock band Overkill was first in the set. RIP.

never liked Motorhead, Did not mind hawkwind though. Funny how there is always one or two known faces that "go" during the holiday......helps break up the monotony for us I suppose (too soon?) ;)

It's just on the news, diagnosed on Boxing Day apparently, if that's true he must have been ignoring the signs, most cancers are treatable if caught early enough, my dad has had bowel cancer twice , once in his late 60s then again in his early 70s, he's 82 in March but a lot die from it after ignoring the signs

RIP Lemmy

Rachel at a party last night, I was unwell so didn't go. She got talking to some couple who are micro biologists or something. They have recently made a break through in Leukemia and recon in 15 years they will unlock and be able to cure all cancers and MS and other terminals.

On the flip side though, there are now cases in Scotland of STD's that are penicillin resistant and people will start dying from similar resistant viruses.

The penicillin resistant viruses are now the massive concern.

Overuse of antibiotics is stoopid in the extreme. Too many people head to the quack at the first sign of anything to get a prescription, and viruses are evolving accordingly. Seems like viruses are smarter than the people who pump themselves full of antibiotics.

Back on topic - it is pretty extraordinary he made it to 70. Well done, Lemmy, and RIP.

Incredible that he made it this far. I am on the No Sleep til Hammersmith album as part of it was recorded at Newcastle City Hall when I was in the crowd that night. Great gig - unbelievably loud and with the lighting rig in the shape of the bomber. RIP.

Edit: I hadn't realised that Philthy Animal Taylor had also died. Last month - sounds like it was cancer as well.

Also we're not exposed to bugs like we were 40 years ago, antibacterial wipes and sprays are a bad thing forced on us by big business , we get through kitchen wipes and sprays like they were free, my mum had a cloth to clean the kitchen and I survived

Forced on us? Really? I must have missed Messers Procter and Gamble muscling into my kitchen and making me use pointless stuff at gunpoint ;)

That's what I mean, not physically forced but you're a bad parent if your house isn't spotless and fitted with CCTV baby monitors, alarms for if they stop breathing , the very latest books on child care, when our son was born 18 years ago I bought a book on child care because I hadn't got a clue , the health worker looked at it and told me it was 3 years out of date

It's worse with the Internet , what's good for you this week is killing you next week but what most people don't think about is none of it is for our benefit, it's all to guilt trip us into spending money
