Loved him in Motorhead as well as The Headcat.

He has been ill for sometime and Its amazing he lived to 70.

Legend in the metal scene.

H3ll yes! Emotionally if not physically. What doting parent hasn't been terrified by the germs which lurk everywhere and which only some miracle cleaner can kill 99.9% of?

Well the 99.9% claim was around when I was a kid, and I'm pretty sure that my parents weren't terrified *but* I am not a parent so I guess I need to bow out.

There was a clip of Lemmy having to stop a gig around a month ago as he just couldn't go on...he looked terrible....He went off and then came back on to say sorry to the crowd...It was clear he was not a well man then.

I just heard that the drummer from the Specials also died today at just 62, another sad loss

Apparently Lemmy was diagnosed with cancer 2 days ago
I find this a bit hard to believe as they are saying it was a particularly aggressive cancer.
I know for certain he had not been well for the last couple of years

Perhaps he had been ignoring the symptoms and hadn't been to see a doctor.

Yes it has been well documented about his illness....

RIP lemmy, not a fan of his music or politics, but that episode of The Young Ones, was a classic. Everyone in school was talking about it on the next day. 70 is bang on the 3 score and 10 and he's more credible than many in the 27 club.

Speaking of rock legends, I read that Phil Lynott passed 30 years ago yesterday. I can't believe it's that long ago. Great singer, great band - still one of my favourites.

Agree David a great band with a very distinctive sound. Brilliant. Looks like Ace of Spades may be heading to number one n the charts.

30 years ago, where did that go?
For me they were ok,
I found the guitar tone repetitive song after song which became tiresome
Was that a chap called Scott Gorman?
